ment. We were sorted into groups and went looking for the best
rides. Then we embarked on the ‘Pirate Falls’ ride. It went so
quickly up and down, everybody screamed very loudly. It was terrifyingly fast and fun. That day, the sun was as round as an orange
set in the sky. After our educational workshop, we then met at a
destination called ‘Driving School’ and ate our delicious lunch. We
showed respect by eating quietly and showing consideration to the
other tourists. We then separated and went on a ride called ‘Laser
Raiders’. The premise of the ride was this: There are Egyptian
mummies and you have to shoot them, every time you hit them
you receive 500 points. My partner Sohan achieved the highest
score! We then departed Lego land punctually and returned to
school quickly and safely. This has been the best trip ever!

Father’s Day Assembly
On Wednesday 17th June, the Kindergarten and Nursery Children sang with lots of love at a
special Father’s Day assembly. Though song and dance,
they spoke expressed feelings to their Dads, Dadas,
Appa, Tata and Nanna. The children demonstrated confidence and understanding of their cultural background. After the performance we enjoyed looking at
the special photos captured with their daddy in a slide
show. We celebrated further by sitting and enjoying
snacks together with our fathers and grandfathers. We
hope you enjoyed your special time with the children.

Kindergarten’s trip of Odds Farm Park
The Kindergarten children were excited to visit Odds Farm Park and from the time they got off
from the bus their smiles and laughter filled the air. The topic of farm animals has been a perennial favourite with them and the farm trip provided a perfect opportunity for the children to use
all their senses, and look at a variety of animals and their young. The hands-on-experience from
feeding the greedy goats and sheep enriched their learning and the highlight was stroking the
scurrying bunnies with care and making them aware of how to handle them. The sheep race was
enjoyable and the children loved jumping onto the tractor and trailer ride. The sand
and water play area was unique too. Here are some comments made by the children:
Aarav – “I like the cow-milking”.
Joy – “The pig was doing oink, oink”.
Vaidehi – “I saw the cows when we went on the tractor and they were eating grass”.
Keeyan – “I hear the cow moo”
We also take this opportunity to extend our thanks to all the parent-helpers who were
great!
Hydration Week
Mr Thomas writes: Drinking enough to stay properly hydrated is something that we often forget to do.
Aside from quenching your first consuming enough water can improve digestion, kidney function, prevent fatigue and headaches, increase brain function and heart health, and even protect our joints and
cartilage. Throughout this week lets try to drink 1L of water a day to make sure we are all staying
properly hydrated.
Car Park
Please note that the tennis courts car park must be used when dropping
off late children- the gates remain open until 8.45am. Please do obey the
speed limit and practice safe driving in the car park. Always be on the
look out for, and give way to, children- remember that they can be unpredictable and may appear from behind parked cars without warning.
We thank you for your support.
Sports Day Transport
Mr Thomas writes: On Friday 10th July 2015 we would like you to drop your children off at 8:30am (at
Willesden Sports Centre.) and pick up at 1:30pm (KS1) and 2:00pm (KS2) from the Willesden Sports Centre.
If you are unable to collect your child at the time stipulated, we will be offering a shuttle service which
will operate from the sports centre to the school from 2:00pm. You will be able to pick your children up
from our late stay facility from 3:30pm.
Nursery & Kindergarten’s Teddy Bear Picnic
Kindergarten children had a really enjoyable experience as they
learnt how to look after their teddies all day. Before the picnic
they helped to cut watermelon into small pieces using safe
knives. They really enjoyed sitting outdoors on blankets with
their teddies by their sides and had a fantastic time eating a
variety of foods.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids
Mr Thomas writes: The Swaminarayan Prep
School has collected over 23,000 vouchers!
This will go towards sports and cooking equipment. A big thank you to all the families,
the Mandir and Devotees for sending these in. I
must give an honorable mention to Devan Pomal,
Rahil Pomal and Jay Jeshani for their efforts with
counting the vouchers.
