Wielkanoc
Easter Sunday
Uczniowie, wchodząc do ciemnego grobu, zobaczyli coś, co
ich przekonało o zmartwychwstaniu. Sam widok pustego
grobu to za mało, by przekonać się o pokonaniu śmierci.
Musieli zobaczyć coś wyjątkowego. Ujrzeli leżące płótna oraz
oddzielnie zwiniętą chustę. Przypomnijmy, że Łazarz, po
wskrzeszeniu, nie mógł się uwolnić od tkanin, którymi był
szczelnie obwiązany i które go krępowały – potrzebował
pomocy świadków wskrzeszenia. Tekst grecki delikatnie
sugeruje, że płótna pozostały nierozwiązane – ciało z nich
po prostu… wypromieniowało. Właśnie to od razu
zauważyli uczniowie! Ciało znikło, nie naruszając
szczelnie i dokładnie zawiniętych płócien. Uczniowie
zobaczyli też chustę zwiniętą, co można zrozumieć, że
zachowała kształt głowy, pozostając jakby pustym
opakowaniem! To musiało zrobić na nich ogromne
wrażenie. Było to tak jednoznaczne, że nie analizowali
znaleziska, tylko po prostu uwierzyli. Wszystko, co zastali,
wskazywało na cud. Mamy więc autentyczną relację z tamtego
wydarzenia, która przemawia do nas i do naszej wiary w
zmartwychwstanie Jezusa Chrystusa. Jest też zapowiedzią
naszego powstania z grobów. Zmartwychwstania możemy
doświadczać już dziś, gdyż wiemy, że ceną grzechu jest
śmierć. Pozbawiając się grzechów w demaskującej
spowiedzi, już pokonujemy krępujące nas, jak owe płótna,
konsekwencje śmierci, z których możemy się wyzwolić.
Dzieje się tak tylko dzięki temu, że On, Światłość tego świata,
wyszedł z grobu bez przeszkód. Śmierć, dzięki Chrystusowi,
stała się nowymi narodzinami, życie będzie przebiegać
dalej, ważne jest tylko, gdzie się znajdziemy po otworzeniu
się trumiennych drzwi. Kluczem do nieba jest wyznanie
grzechów, kluczem do piekła – zachowanie ich dla siebie!
He is risen as he said! Alleluia! This day is the Sunday of Sundays. On this and every Sunday we identify ourselves as members of the one Body of the risen Lord, the Church, by worshipping as one people in the Eucharistic sacrifice. The early
Christians called this day the Day of the Sun as did everyone
else in the Roman Empire. What
they meant by that was much
more than could be said for the
typical Roman, for whom the
day marked merely one more
rising and setting of the fiery orb
that coursed through the skies.
For Christians this was the day
on which the rising of the Sun
ever reminded them of the glorious rising of the Son of
God. Many today habitually profane the Lord's Day, going
about their business with no thought of the Lord's Resurrection. If we desire to live forever in light and love, we must
share now in the new dawn of the Lord's Resurrection. We do
so when we learn to celebrate the Lord's Day in a worthy way,
and according to the ancient discipline of the Christian communio, or communion, and the law of Christ. In the Eucharistic
Sacrifice we offer the perfect prayer of Christ, the perfect
means of keeping the Lord's Day holy. Our indifference to the
Mass condemns us as indifferent to Christ Himself. Worship
with the Christian communio is not an option among options. It expresses and makes present the core reality of our
identity as Christians. Without the Lord, as he manifests
Himself in Word and Sacrament, it is impossible for us to
look forward to heaven and eternal joy. Without me, he
warns, you can do nothing.

Jezus objawił siostrze Faustynie: W dniu tym
otwarte są wnętrzności miłosierdzia mego, wylewam
cale morze łask na dusze, które się zbliżą do źródła
miłosierdzia mojego; która dusza przystąpi do
spowiedzi (uprzednio) i Komunii św., (tego dnia)
dostąpi zupełnego odpuszczenia win i kar; w dniu tym
otwarte są wszystkie upusty Boże, przez które płyną
łaski; niech się nie lęka zbliżyć do mnie żadna dusza,
chociażby grzechy jej były jako szkarłat. Miłosierdzie moje jest
tak wielkie, że przez całą wieczność nie zgłębi go żaden umysł...
Każda dusza w stosunku do mnie rozważać będzie przez
wieczność cala miłość i miłosierdzie moje. Święto Miłosierdzia
wyszło z wnętrzności moich, pragnę, aby uroczyście
obchodzone było w pierwszą niedzielę po Wielkanocy.

these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about
My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of
Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of
My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean
of graces upon those souls who approach the fount
of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession
[beforehand] and receive Holy Communion [on that
day] shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which
grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me,
even though its sins be as scarlet. ... The Feast of Mercy
emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire
that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Today, as the Archbishop of Philadelphia, I have the privilege of proclaiming the opening of
the Bicentennial celebration of our founding as a Diocese in 1808. While it is true that this is an historic moment for the Church
in Philadelphia, more importantly it is an opportunity for us to recommit ourselves to Jesus Christ and His Gospel with greater
zeal. As Saint Paul tells us, So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:11). Just as Christ
lives to God through His Resurrection, so we are alive in Christ through our faith in Him and through our baptism.
May Mary, the Queen of Heaven, who rejoices in the Resurrection of her Son, intercede for the renewal of the Church in Philadelphia.

Święcenie pokarmów.
W Wielką Sobotę w Amerykańskiej
Częstochowie przez cały dzień w kafeterii było
święcenie pokarmów na wielkanocny stół. Świecone pokarmy to przede wszystkim chleb, który
symbolizuje chleb żywy, który zstąpił z nieba i w
Komunii św. daje życie światu, a także jajka i kolorowe pisanki
– symbol życia. W koszyczkach umieszcza się wielkanocnego
baranka symbolizującego biblijnego baranka paschalnego,
który był zapowiedzią Baranka Chrystusa zabitego i zmartwychwstałego. Uzupełnieniem święconki są najczęściej
również wędliny, chrzan, pieprz i sól. Wiele osób przybywających do Amerykańskiej Częstochowy ze święconką po ceremonii błogosławieństwa udawała się do Kościoła na adorację
Najświętszego Sakramentu przy Grobie Pańskim.

Blessing of food - in the cafeteria.
One of the revered Lenton traditions particulary
among Slavic Catholics, and now being adopted by
more and more Catholics throughout the Catholic
Chuch in America in many non Slavic parishes at
Easter, is the blessing of the Easter basket on Holy
Saturday. The baskets are prepared and then brought to the
church to be blessed by the priest. At our Shrine, the blessing
of food occured on Holy Saturday. Traditional Easter Basket
has a small easter palm and bazie (pussy willow), eggs and
lamb. A Paschal Lamb, representing the Lamb of God, can
be made from cake. Eggs are a symbol of new life or rebirth.
Meat, usually ham or sausage, Horseradish, bitter herbs
that signify the bitterness of the suffering of Christ, and salt a
Polish sign of hospitality are all found in this basket.
