UROCZYSTOŚĆ TRÓJCY PRZENAJŚWIĘTSZEJ
THE HOLY TRINITY
Najświętsza Trójca, Jedność Osób Bożych - Ojca, Syna i Ducha
Świętego - na zawsze pozostanie tajemnicą wiary. Nie jest to jednak
tajemnica w znaczeniu wiedzy tajemnej, dostępnej tylko dla
wybranych i wtajemniczonych. Bóg sam zechciał nam objawić tę
tajemnicę, zechciał objawić siebie samego w Osobach Ojca, Syna i
Ducha. Objawiający się w Starym Testamencie jako
Ojciec Narodu Wybranego, objawia się w Nowym
Testamencie w osobie Jezusa Chrystusa Jednorodzonego Syna Bożego, Boga - Człowieka,
Zbawiciela świata a po Wniebowstąpieniu
Chrystusa, w Osobie Ducha Świętego Pocieszyciela i Uświęciciela. Ta prawda o TrójJedynym Bogu nie jest więc enigmą, zagadką, czy
łamigłówką służącą do "gimnastykowania rozumu".
Jej objawienie dokonujące się sukcesywnie w ciągu
historii ludzkości i ma znaczenie bardziej
soteriologiczne niż epistemologiczne. Bóg objawia
się człowiekowi nie po to aby człowiek tylko więcej
wiedział, ale Bóg objawia się człowiekowi, aby
człowiek osiągnął zbawienie. Epistemologiczne i
mistyczne poznanie rzeczywistości Boga, a tym
samym doskonałe zjednoczenie z Bogiem dokona
się dopiero po osiągnięciu zbawienia w "visio
beatifica". Poznanie tajemnicy Boga przekracza
możliwości ludzkiego rozumu, ale to wcale nie
znaczy że ludzkiemu rozumowi zaprzecza lub że go
neguje.
Bóg objawia się człowiekowi, jako kochający
Ojciec Stwórca, jako zbawiający Syn Boży, Bóg Człowiek i jako
uświęcający Duch Święty Pocieszyciel. I nie to jest dla nas ważne,
jakie są wewnętrzne relacje w Trójcy Świętej, ale to, że Bóg nas
kocha, że pragnie nas zbawić i uświęcić, że pragnie nam siebie
udzielić.
Przypomina mi się anegdota wyczytana w którejś z książek
księdza Wójtowicza. Otóż dwóch mnichów przez całe swoje długie,
zakonne życie wiodło uczone dysputy teologiczne na temat
rzeczywistości Trójcy Świętej. Po wielu latach doszli w końcu do
jakiegoś uczonego i zawiłego konsensusu i rozwiązania owej
tajemnicy. Widząc jednak, że zbliżają się już do końca życia zawarli
między sobą układ-umowę, że ten który pierwszy umrze i osiągnie
życie wieczne, a co za tym idzie pozna rzeczywiście tajemnicę Trójcy
Świętej wyśle drugiemu krótki telegram z jednym tylko słowem. Jeśli
ta rzeczywistość przedstawia się tak jak oni sobie to wykoncypowali,
to telegram będzie zawierał jedno słowo: "totaliter" - co znaczy
całkowicie, dokładnie tak. Jeśli jednak rzeczywistość ta jest inna niż
ich uczona teoria, to telegram będzie zawierał również jedno słowo:
"aliter" - co znaczy różnie, inaczej. W końcu jeden z nich umarł i po
jakimś czasie ten drugi otrzymuje telegram, ale z czterema słowami:
"straciliśmy czas - totaliter aliter", to znaczy całkowicie inaczej.
Nie traćmy może czasu ..... i poświęćmy go raczej na szukanie
sposobów zbawienia, a nie zrozumienia tego co i tak zostanie nam w
pełni objawione w życiu przyszłym ... o ile ta dotrzemy?
Our Catholic Church commemorates today one of the greatest days
in the liturgical year. What we acre commemorating is the most important
fundamental mystery and the font of all the other mysteries of faith and of
Christian life. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us, it is “the
most fundamental and basic teaching” of all the truths of our faith. This is
the feast day of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The
liturgy of the Mass today teaches us how we should
relate to each of the three Divine Persons. This feast
day shows us that God can be contemplated in three
different ways.
The Three Persons of the Most Holy Trinity, of
whom it is so very difficult to understand, is only one
God in Three distinct persons. The Father is not the
Son nor is he the Holy Spirit. And the Son and the
Holy Spirit a different from each other and from the
Father. But the Three Persons have on divine
nature. The Three have the same greatness, kindness
and holiness. What one of the Persons does, all three
do. But throughout history the Church has observed
that certain activities are more appropriate to one
person than the others. Creation is more appropriate
to the Father, Redemption to the Son and
Sanctification to the Holy Spirit. None of the Three
Trinitarian Personas has more power over the
others. Each one of the Three has all of the divinity,
all of the power and all of the wisdom. And this is the
reason that the Most Holy Trinity is such a profound
mystery.
That is why penetrating the mystery about the
Most Holy Trinity is not easy. And because of this some people go about
looking for another god who is easier to reach, easier to
understand. Human beings have always wanted to gain knowledge and,
sometimes, curiosity goes too far. In stead of asking the Holy Spirit to
illuminate us so that they can better understand the mystery of the Most
Holy Spirit, they prefer to create a god in their own image. Because of
this we hear people who say, “God is far from me, He never listens to
me.” And that is the reason that some prefer, even though this can cause
problems for their soul, to distance themselves from God and from the
Church. And many go even farther, looking for a god they do not find,
they leave our Catholic Church, the true one, and go wandering about
from sect to sect, denying the existence of the Most Holy Trinity.
Today there are many sects that call themselves Christian but, in
reality, they are not precisely because they refuse to believe in the mystery
of the Most Holy Trinity. At this moment the Jehovah’s Witnesses and
the Mormons come to mind. These two sects are among those who deny
the Trinitarian doctrine. Let us be careful not to fall in the error of
believing what these sects teach. The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is
a central mystery of our Christian faith. God, Himself, made it known to
us, revealing Himself throughout human history as Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit.
Our Catholic Faith is based on adoring one God in the
Trinity. When we are baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, we are called to participate in the life of the Most
Blessed Trinity here on earth, in the darkness of human life and, after
death, in the light of eternity.

Bucks County Choral Society Concert
June 3, 2005 at 8:00 p.m.
The Bucks County Choral Society and the Chamber Choir of
Bucks County Choral Society, under the baton of Artistic Director
Thomas Lloyd, will conclude its season in grand fashion with a
program of masterpieces for organ, solo voice and choir from
twentieth and twenty-first century composers, on June 3rd, at 8:00
p.m., at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. The
program includes Francies Poulenc’s intense, joyful and playful
Gloria, the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis from Scottish composer
James MacMillan, and Arvo Pärt’s The Woman with the Alabaster
Box. The performance will be preceded by an organ prelude
beginning at 7:30 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted.
The Choral Society is joined in this performance by two
outstanding musicians. Organ virtuoso Edward Alan Moore, a
member of the organ faculty at The Catholic University of America
Benjamin T. Rome School of Music in Washington, D.C., and
Director of Music Minitries at The Lewinsville Presbyterian Church
in McLean, VA., will be featured at the Shrine’s world famous
organ. Soprano Barbara Shirvis will be featured during Poulenc’s
Gloria.
