VFW POST 10066 JUNE 2016 NEWSLETTER Commander’s Corner: Congratulations to all the 2016-17 officers of VFW Post 10066, the Ladies Auxiliary and Men’s Auxiliary who officially take office June 12 during the annual VFW State Convention. I encourage everyone to support our Post and its auxiliaries as we continue to support our veterans and our Jensen Beach community through VFW programs and events. Our Post was well represented during the Memorial Day parade and services in Memorial Park in Stuart as we honored veterans and remembered those who died while serving our country. We begin June by remembering those who served on D-Day, June 6, 1044 - the day first day of the Normandy Invasion in northern France during WWII. On Tuesday, June 14, we remind everyCommander one to fly the American Flag on Flag Day. Our country’s flag was adopted as the flag of the United Harry Keat States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. I want to thank Bill Genetti & Mike Fatibene for the work they are doing in the VFW kitchen. They’re doing a great job, keeping the kitchen open all day Monday through Saturday and serving $5 lunches, grill menu items and $8 Friday night dinners. I’d also like to welcome Dale Rosas-Friedel to the kitchen on Sundays. She’s offering $5 Sunday Buffet Breakfasts from 9 am - 1 pm and she will cook orders upon request. We’ve installed a new televised bulletin board on the north wall of the canteen. All VFW events and messages will be updated regularly on this TV, so make sure you monitor it regularly. We have several activities planned this month, including Tuesday night Karaoke and Friday night dinners and entertainment. Come by for fun evenings of dancing and music by Lady & The Tramp, Dennis G. and the Saxman & Posse Band. Make sure you stop by Friday, June 10, for the farewell show of Sho Nuff Country Band.
