Comrades,
Well here it is already September, Something very exciting happened at the national convention a member from

many credits to list them all here. If you would like to read
about him go to myfloridavfw.org and click on National

District commander John Ayers presented him with a
handmade gavel that came from post 4194.

was very informative there was a lot to absorb in just two
and a half days, if any one would like to see my notes feel
free to stop by the office to read them.
Our post will also be hosting the district 11 SOI (school of
Instruction) on September 15th at 10:00 am, and then on
September 17th a representative from CVS will be here
at the post giving out flu shots from 3:00pm - 5:00pm the
cost is $31.99 and is covered under Medicare.

Veterans council of Martin county will be hosting Vietnam
reflections featuring the Vietnam traveling Memorial wall
at Halpatiokee Park in Stuart Fl. October 25th - 28th 2012

Very quiet this month only two funerals; that is a
good thing.
Our post is supposed to receive the van for the
Honor Guard this month. There is a lot of paper
work to be done before we receive the van, it’s
almost done. I have seen the van it is very nice
it is 2004 Ford 350 12 passenger Econoline.
The Honor Guard will be going together in one
vehicle. A great big THANK YOU to the Martin
County Veterans Council for the donation.
Our Honor Guard has a new member his name

United Healthcare To Be New TRICARE West Contractor
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) announced this week that it was moving ahead with its
decision to award the Tricare West region (T-3) contract to United Healthcare. The contract had been held
by TriWest Healthcare Alliance, who had filed a protest with GAO earlier this year. TriWest currently
serves 2.9 million beneficiaries, including active duty
personnel, retirees and their families, and has more
than 175,000 healthcare providers in its 21-state network. Their current contract continues through March
31, 2013, after which United Healthcare will take over
beginning April 1, 2013.

MEN’S AUXILIARY NEWS
This month the Men’s Auxiliary will have two Dinner Dances. The
first one will be on Saturday September 22nd. We will be serving ½
baked chicken with baked potato, veggies and a salad. The music
will be provided by Roger & Susie. The second Dinner Dance will be
held on Thursday September 27th. We will be serving penne pasta
with Italian sausage, meat balls and garlic bread for $7.00. The music will be provided by a DJ. Please come out to both these events
for an affordable evening of dinner, dance and enjoyable entertainment. As always, at these dinners, once the 50/50 raffle is pulled
another winning ticket will be pulled and the winner will be given two
free dinner tickets to a future Men’s Auxiliary dinner.
The Men’s Auxiliary second annual golf outing will be held at The
Champions Club in Stuart on October 6, 2012 and be played as a
two man scramble. So if you are a champion golfer, or maybe a
semi pro (you think), or just a week end Joe hacker, this golf outing
is for you. With the handicap system everyone has a chance to win.
The registration flyers are available now at the VFW Post. Make
sure you get your registration and payment in early. There were a
total of 66 golfers last year and we are expecting this years outing to
sell out.
HDTV Raffle at Golf Outing Lunch: During the October 6th golf
outing lunch the Men’s Auxiliary will be raffling off one 19” flat
screen HDTV. It is perfect for a small room at your house. To purchase tickets see a Men’s Auxiliary member or the bar tender working at the Post. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. You do not have
to be at the golf outing lunch to win.
Are you Tebowing for some Football? The Post is back with the
Sunday NFL package for this up coming season. You will be able to
see any of the NFL afternoon games at the Post. The Men’s Auxiliary will be selling chicken wings, hot dogs, egg rolls, jalapeno poppers, etc. between 12:30 to 4:30 pm for the Sunday football games.
So come out to the Post with friends and catch the NFL Sunday
action with food and drinks served.
VFW National Headquarters has sent out the renewal membership
dues payment requests for 2013 to all the Men’s Auxiliary members.
I encourage all of you men to pay your 2013 dues early. The Men’s
Auxiliary monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every
month at 6:30 PM. All Men’s Auxiliary members are encouraged to
attend our meetings and keep supporting all of the VFW functions
with your presence and service.
