be healed by him.

Our parish provides ESL (English as a Second Language) classes
to the community on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 7 - 9 pm,
beginning January 27, 2015.

High School Youth...Join us after the 5:00 p.m. Mass on
Sundays in the Youth Center.
STM youth group is having its second Girls Group
this Monday the 26th. It will be from 7-9pm in the
youth room.
Guys group is every Thursday from 7-9pm in the
youth room. This Thursday we will be talking about
why it’s important to keep your word.
Junior high youth group will be this Friday the 30th
from 7-9pm in the youth room. It is open to all 6th
-8th graders!
This Sunday night we will be talking about the Sacraments; what they are and why we need them.

On February 7th, Rev. Brendan Cahill will celebrate
the Anointing Mass of The Sick. All are invited to attend the
Mass. The Sacrament of the Sick is reserved for those whose
health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age. Children who
meet the criteria should also have reached the age of reason. If
you plan to receive the Sacrament of the Sick during the Mass,

The Sacrament of Penance will be available starting at 9:00

Mrs. Kathleen Scroggins Warner has been a teacher in Catholic
Schools for 28 years (5 years at Holy
Ghost and the rest at STM). She has a
Bachelor of Arts from the University of St.
Thomas and a Masters of Education from
the University of Houston. She and Ben
have been married 39 years. They have 3
children, Katie, Ben, and Theresa, all STM
Alumni. They have 2 grandchildren.
Kathleen and her 8 siblings all graduated
from STM. She loves cooking, reading, and spending time with
family. Mrs. Warner says “I love teaching at STM because for
me it is home. I graduated from STM as well as my sisters,
brothers, children, nieces, and nephews. There truly is no place
like home. What better place to grow and cultivate the talents
God has given us.”
STM School….Did you Know?
St. Thomas More students started 2015 by gathering gold, silver, and
bronze at the 29th annual St. Pius X Middle School Academic Rally. Twenty
-one schools throughout the diocese participated in scholastic disciplines
that included art expression, creative writing, foreign language presentations (French & Spanish), calculator, number sense, on-site drawing, math,
photography, science, English, social studies, spelling, technology, and
theology. Each subject extensively tests a participant’s aptitude and comprehension.
In this multi-disciplinary competition, more than seventy STM sixth
through eighth grade students participated in oral presentations or written
exams. Our trivia team placed third overall in the Significa Tournament.
STM students took home 106 individual awards which led St. Thomas More
to win The Sweepstakes Award for the eighth time in the last nine years.
We would like to thank our parents and faculty for their tireless efforts and support of this two-day rally. STM is an outstanding Catholic
school because of their true TIGER SPIRIT!

Primer Ministerio Publico de Jesús en el Evangelio de Marcos. La gente venia a Jesús a escucharlo y a ser sanados
por el.
‘Si escuchas la voz de Dios, hoy, no endurezcas tu
corazón.’
Jesús aun esta activo en nuestro mundo. El nos
llama a ti y a mi cada día para seguirlo, para arrepentirnos,
para que la buena nueva entre en nuestros corazones, y
para vivir y disfrutar las bellezas de la naturaleza.
Que el Señor Todopoderoso los bendiga a todos.
La Señora Kathleen Scroggins Warner ha
sido maestro en escuelas Católicas por 28
años (5 años en Holy Ghost y el resto en
STM). Ella tiene una Licenciatura en Artes de la Universidad de St. Thomas y una
maestría en Educación de la Universidad
de Houston. Ella y Ben han estado casados 39 años. Ellos tienen 3 hijos, Katie,
Ben, y Teresa, todos alumnos graduados
de STM. Tienen 2 nietos. Kathleen y sus 8 hermanos todos son
alumnos graduados de STM. A ella le gusta cocinar, leer, y pasar
tiempo con su familia. La Señora Warner dice “Me gusta enseñar
en STM porque para mi es como mi casa. Me gradué de STM al
igual que mis hermanas y hermanos, mis hijos, mis sobrinos y
mis sobrinas. Realmente no hay lugar como estar en casa. ¿Qué
mejor lugar para crecer y cultivar los talentos que Dios nos ha
dado.”

Ausn Benne Tice is a home schooled, Eagle Scout, Naonal Merit
Finalist, graduate of Georgetown University, former Captain in the
United States Marine Corps and recipient of the 2012 George Polk
Award for War Reporng. He is the eldest of seven children, and was
born and raised in Texas.
In May of 2012, the summer before his final year at Georgetown Law
School, he chose to go to Syria as a Freelance Journalist to report on
the conflict there. Two days a4er his 31st birthday, on August 13,
2012, his editors, family and friends lost contact with Ausn, as he
was preparing to travel from Daraya, near Damascus, to Beirut, Lebanon.
