January 25, 2015 - St. Thomas More
ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH HOUSTON, TEXAS Fr. Hai’s Corner I began my first priestly assignment at Sts. Simon and Jude in the Woodlands. My mentor and first pastor was the late Monsignor Charles Domec. I learned from Father Domec this order of love: Put God first. Love your Family – Church family, second. Enjoy the out-door ac*vi*es, last. January 25, 2015 The Knights of Columbus are taking pre-orders for their delicious Super Bowl meals (with a Cajun flair) this weekend and next after Mass. For this event, everything is pre-ordered and pre-paid. Cash and Checks made payable to KC #3910 accepted. Dinners will be available for pick up on Saturday after the 5:00 Mass and on Sunday after all morning Masses at Servant Hall. Annulment Informaon Night “There is nothing else that ma-ers in this world.” he said. And, I have found that Fr. Domec was right. I try to live my daily life according to what Father Domec taught me. I believe that this world is passing away fast, *me is short. I need to get my priori*es right. From Church to daily Living. We hear Jesus’ first public ministry in Mark’s gospel. People come to Jesus to hear him and be healed by him. ‘If you hear the voice of God, today, harden not your heart.’ Jesus is s*ll ac*ve in our world. He calls you and me each day to follow Him, to repent, to let the Good News enter our hearts, and to live and enjoy the beau*es of nature. Does a former spouse have to agree to the annulment? No, the former spouse is no*fied and may respond if they desire but that person's consent is not necessary to the annulment process. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 Servant Hall, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Spread the Good News! St Thomas More Event Photo is free and open to all STM ministries. Ministry Heads may call Chris Moras at 713.305.4099 to schedule photography for their next parish event. May almighty God bless us all. Fr. Hai It’s Golden! St. Thomas More students started 2015 by gathering gold, silver, and bronze at the 29th annual St. Pius X Middle School Academic Rally. Twenty -one schools throughout the diocese participated in scholastic disciplines that included art expression, creative writing, foreign language presentations (French & Spanish), calculator, number sense, on-site drawing, math, photography, science, English, social studies, spelling, technology, and theology. Each subject extensively tests a participant’s aptitude and comprehension. In this multi-disciplinary competition, more than seventy STM sixth through eighth grade students participated in oral presentations or written exams. Our trivia team placed third overall in the Significa Tournament. STM students took home 106 individual awards which led St. Thomas More to win The Sweepstakes Award for the eighth time in the last nine years. We would like to thank our parents and faculty for their tireless efforts and support of this two-day rally. STM is an outstanding Catholic school because of their true TIGER SPIRIT! ST. & 4-5 p.m. Viernes, 5-6 a.m.
