the Depot ST. LOUIS COUNTY HERITAGE & ARTS CENTER Visitor Guide Built in 1892 as the Duluth Union Depot, this chateauesque style structure is on the National Register of Historic places and was saved for restoration in the early 1970s by the people of Duluth and St. Louis County. Since 1977, the Depot has been the site of the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center. Four museums provide exhibitions to the public: Lake Superior Railroad Museum, Duluth Art Institute, St. Louis County Historical Society, and Veteran’s Memorial Hall. In addition, five performing arts organizations call the Depot home: The Arrowhead Chorale, Minnesota Ballet, Duluth Playhouse, Matinee Musicale, & Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. The Depot is Wheelchair Accessable Photos for personal use are encouraged to be taken in all museum spaces except the Ojibwe Gallery on Level 4 First Aid: If you are in need of assistance, please find a staff member or return to Visitors Desk.
