NEWS FROM PASS CHRISTIAN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Pass Christian Middle School Students Are In The Spotlight!
Pass Christian Middle
School has gone Hollywood! This year’s Renaissance theme is “Be Your
Own Spotlight.” On the first
day of school, students were
instantly transformed into
celebrities.
Teachers, a.k.a., the paparazzi, snapped photos with
their cameras as students
stepped out of a limousine
and walked the red carpet to
their first day of school.
In a general assembly, students were awarded pirate
cards, t-shirts and special
recognition certificates. The
excitement continued as a
team of teachers performed
to “When I Grow Up (I
Wanna be a Star)” by the
Pussycat Dolls.
Afterward, the students reported to classes and enjoyed more activities based
on the theme “Be Your
Own Spotlight.” Some activities included students
placing their handprints on
the Hall of Fame and pictures taken in front of Hollywood backgrounds.
first day of school sets the
standard for the entire
school year. Pass Christian
Middle School has been a
Renaissance school for
three years and credits the
program for the positive and
upbeat morale of the entire
school family, including bus
drivers, cafeteria workers,
and custodians.
The program also contributes to the school community’s success by improving
grades, increasing attendance and nurturing tremendous school pride.
During the summer, a com-
mittee of teachers and administrators attended the
2011 Jostens Renaissance
National Conference to
learn new ways to enhance
the school community and
inspire all students and staff
to be successful.
