Please call Fr. Vogel at 402/843-2345 St. Boniface Eucharistic Day of Prayer The Day before First Friday, Each Month September 18, 2016 Friends, Welcome to Dr. William Jurgensen, and thank you for enlightening us this weekend on “The Cloisters on the Platte". Today is Catechetical Sunday. Thank you to all of you who pass on the Catholic Faith to the youth in our parishes. We are blessed with our Family Formation, Sunday Youth Group, Catholic Schools and many other programs geared to help young people grow in their faith. Let us all remember that not only teachers and parents, but all adults should model the trustworthy behavior that that is expected from young people. Recently you received a letter from Archbishop Lucas inviting your support of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Please give prayerful consideration to how you can respond. Jesus challenges us to make room for God and others in our lives and to be ready to give a full account of our stewardship. May our discipleship reflect the mercy God has shown us. Thanks to Mark & Chris Grundmayer and Julie Dwyer for setting up and running the DVD for the Annual Appeal presentation last weekend at the Masses. I’m happy to report on Archdiocesan grants we received this week. They were made available because of your generous donations to the Annual Appeal. We received $200 for our Family Formation Program, $500 for Totus Tuus and $100 for Bible Study materials. Sunday Youth Group begins next Sunday, September 25 for any 7-12 graders from our parishes. Louise Schindler is the coordinator and they meet monthly after the 10:00 am Mass, until approximately 12:30 pm. Please call Louise if you have any questions, 402-843-5375. Thank you Louise for your continued dedication to our youth and their faith growth! Thank you to Mary & Jim Baum for coordinating the bazaar raffle solicitation and all the solicitors who went out and collected our many prizes for our Thanksgiving ticket, and of course, thank you to those who so generously gave! The tickets will be available in October. Join me in praying for those from our parishes who will be confirmed on October 2nd. May they each use this time to prepare for the great gift of the Holy Spirit they will receive! This Wednesday evening, several representatives from each of our parishes and schools in the Rural Central Deanery will come together for a kick-off event to discuss future plans, areas of growth and decline in our parishes and schools, etc. with the Mitler Group. I am grateful for those of you who said "yes" to my plea to be involved in this process.
