Friends,
In less than two weeks you will be able to “shop” close to
home for some unique items at the St. Bonaventure Hall
Rummage Sale/Bake Sale April 29-30 and May 1. See more
information inside about when you can drop off items and
the times they’ll be open! Tell your friends, as many might
be interested in the rectory and church tours as well. All
proceeds to the new hall!
This weekend we will hold the “Hunger Doesn’t Take a
Vacation” collection to help Catholic Charities fund its
Emergency food pantries. If you did not have a chance to
give, you can still place your donation in next week’s
collection, made out to the church with a note what it is
for.
Contractors, please see our invitation inside for bids for
our St. Boniface Gym Locker Room Remodel
Project. Complete bid packets are available at the Parish
Office, during our normal business hours. For questions,

Mark your calendars! On Sunday, May 15 at the 8:00 am
Mass, St. Bonaventure Parish will be honoring their World
Marriage Day couples, Senior Graduates, Altar Servers, and
First Communicants. A coffee and roll reception will be
held at the parish hall, following Mass.
The results of the St. Boniface Men’s Circle donations will
be published soon. If you haven’t given, it’s not too late.
Please give it to your circle leader this week. Thanks!
I want to thank Louise Schindler for the time she spent
with the Sunday Youth Group students each month! It is a
blessing to have parishioners committed to passing on the
faith.
Please join me in praying for the students who will be
confirmed this fall, on October 2. Confirmation Classes
wrapped up last week and I want to thank Anne Meis and
Chris Grundmayer for being my assistants with the
classes. I couldn’t do it without their organization!
Thank you to the St. Boniface/Pope John Students who,
when they cleaning up our community on Friday
afternoon, also cleaned up around our parish grounds and
flowerbeds. Thanks also to the women who helped them
out!! Everything looks great!

The Committee for the St. Boniface Gym Locker Room
Project is requesting turn-key complete material and
labor bid for the remodel of two locker rooms. Bid
packets can be picked up at St. Boniface Parish Office
during regular business hours. Bids must be turned in by
May 5 and include a copy of your Certificate of
Insurance. Project must be completed by August 1,
2016.
Project includes:
-steel panels for ceiling
-replace 5 walk in doors
-install ceramic tile in shower stall
-add partition doors to stool areas
-all new stools, sinks, shower faucets, water heaters
-remove and replace 2 exhaust fans
-install new LED troffer lights
-remove and rehang existing ceiling mounted
furnaces
It is advisable to contact a representative of this
committee to look at all aspects of the project!

JC Camp is for students who will be
entering their freshmen year this fall (or
those older that have not made a JC
Camp)!! JC Camp is hosted by St. Michael’s Parish of
Albion and open to all area Catholic students. It will be
held at Tintern Retreat Center, Wednesday-Sunday,
May 25-29. Time is spent outdoors, engaged in sand
volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, hiking 30 acres,
and evenings are spent around the campfire! There is
one adult and one junior counselor per 4-5 campers.
This camp gives them an opportunity to develop a
support system to help them live out good, moral
values. Extra registration forms are at the parish office.
Cost is $90. For more information about the camp,

The St. Boniface High School Alumni Banquet will be
held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the KC Hall in
Elgin. Mass is at St. Boniface Church at 5:30 followed by
a social time at 6:30 pm with dinner served at 7:00 pm.
Honored classes are 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956, 1961,
1966. All alumni are welcome. Deadline for prepaid
reservations is June 1. Price is $16 per person and must
be paid when reservation is made. No tickets at the

The 11th Annual Christian Cross Festival
will be held Friday, June 12th-Saturday,
June 13th at Skyview Lake in Norfolk. This
is a FREE family friendly event that
includes Christian music, great speakers, food,
children’s activities, inflatables and fireworks. You are
encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. Free will
donations accepted. A number of food vendors will be

Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School will
present their annual spring concert on Friday, April 29th
at 7:30 pm in the St. Boniface Gym. The junior high
show choir and junior high bands will be performing
numbers that they performed at the Wayne State
College Middle School Festival. The high school choir
will be performing as well as the women’s choir and
men’s ensemble. Soloists and vocal duets from District
Music Contest will be featured also. The evening will
be a variety of music, a mix of popular music and
exciting choral repertoire.

Annulment Seminar – Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at
Sacred Heart Parish Center, (next to St. Mary’s church)

p.m. Rev. Scott Hastings, JCL, of the Archdiocese of
Omaha Metropolitan Tribunal, will examine the meaning
of the term “annulment”, the Archdiocese process for
granting an annulment and the currently acceptable
grounds for obtaining an annulment. You will have the
opportunity to review the required documents, and time
expectations. Questions and concerns you may have will

The Jubilee Pilgrimage to St. Cecilia Cathedral on
Pentecost will be held May 15. This pilgrimage is a
wonderful opportunity for faithful people from all our
parishes to make a pilgrimage of mercy and unity on the
Solemnity of Pentecost. This is an occasion which will be
long remembered by families, confirmandi, neophytes
and those with devotion to Divine Mercy. It is also a
special gift for all involved in ministry of any kind. Please
