All-New Online Bill Pay
Enhanced Features & Accessible Via Mobile Banking
To avoid becoming victim to an identity thief, it is important to keep
personal and financial documents safe and secure. Properly storing
important documents not only will help thwart identity theft, but can
also help eliminate clutter and keep you organized.
Ways to keep your financial and personal information safe and
secure include:
Receive financial statements electronically
Alleviate clutter and add security by signing up to receive billing
and financial statements electronically. Not only will you eliminate
the chances of your financial information being lost, or even stolen
from your mailbox, you will no longer have the clutter of paper
statements. Another advantage is that your electronic statements can
be easily secured and stored on your computer or online financial
account.
Keep important documents in a locked filing cabinet or
fire/waterproof safe
Securing personal and financial documents under lock and key will
help keep all your documents organized and will prevent them from
being accessed by someone who could use the information to steal
your identity. It is also a good idea to store hard to replace
documents, such as Social Security cards, birth certificates, marriage

Celebrating79 Years of
Member Service
On Saturday, February 27th, nearly 1,000 members
and guests gathered at the Hawaii Convention Center
for Hickam Federal Credit Union’s 79th Annual
Membership Celebration. The evening was filled
with great food, fun, and dancing. After a delicious
Prime Rib Dinner Buffet the spectacular Ben Vegas
and Maila Gibson took the stage and filled the
ballroom with a wonderful mix of island and
contemporary music. And the excitement continued,
as guests were asked to pull out their lucky tickets
for door prizes, which included $1,000 in cash prizes
and a Grand Prize of a $1,000 Travel Certificate.
And of course, the evening could not end without
late-night dancing to the popular Nueva Vida
featuring Rocky Brown and Jordan Segundo.
We would like to thank all of you who joined
us for an evening of fun and fellowship and look
forward to seeing you again next year for our
80th celebration!
Board of Directors Adrian Yunson,
Carol Ebia, and Ray Romero

Young people face a bewildering financial landscape in their immediate
future—one where technology has made spending as easy as breathing
and the cost of higher education skyrocketing. That’s why we believe
it’s more important than ever to ensure our youth gain and possess
strong money management skills.
As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our core values include
member education and social responsibility. We care about the
community where we live and work, and the people in it. We look
forward to watching the next generation grow and make it even better.
By instilling the habit of saving, offering positive encouragement,
and providing financial education, we can prepare our community’s
youngest members for brighter futures by helping them grow into
financially fit adults. Credit union strong means having the money skills
to embrace an awesome future, and leaving your community better than
you found. That’s why we take our mission of helping youth so seriously.
Of course, we realize the biggest influence on anyone’s life is their
parents. So if you want to start your kids on a path to financial strength,
then participating in Credit Union Youth Month is a good start.
Burdened by
Heavy Taxes?
Now that the tax season is almost over, you may be
relieved. But, instead of anticipating a return you
realize that you may have to owe a large amount of
taxes to the IRS. So, what can you do? Here are a few
payment solutions for that unexpected tax bill.
1. Pay With a Credit Card
Paying with one or more credit cards is an option if you have
adequate credit available and you are comfortable with the balance
payments. Although the solution is convenient, it is not necessarily
We
encouraged especially if your credit card has high interest
rates and fees that could undermine the quick fix.
2. Obtain a Low Rate Personal Loan
Instead of creating credit card balances that are difficult
to pay down, you may want to seek a personal loan that
could help with paying your tax bill and offer a chance
to consolidate other high interest rate debt. Seek a personal
loan that offers a combination of rates and terms to fit
your monthly budget.
3. Use Your Home to Pay Your Tax Bill
If you own a home, borrowing against its equity may be one
of the better options. Interest rates for a Home Equity Line of
Credit tend to be lower than credit cards and the interest
may be tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor.
Making a Difference
Providing Free Tax Preparation For Those Needing Assistance
