Have Fun, Be Safe! Come Play! Get Involved! The Kennebunk Dog Park is a fun place for dogs and owners alike. The park provides a safe, fenced, natural environment where dogs can exercise and socialize off-leash. We welcome residents and visitors throughout the year. The park is free and open every day from dawn to dusk. The following rules apply for the pleasure, safety, and enjoyment of owners and their dogs at the Park. Operation of the Kennebunk Dog Park is totally dependent upon voluntary contribution of goods, services and money. Ongoing expenses include such items as fence repairs, office costs, equipment and other supplies. A Kennebunk Dog Park Fund has been established at the Animal Welfare Society, a non-profit organization, specifically to help cover these costs. We welcome any support you can provide to help our park. If you would like your contribution to go towards a specific project or item, such as a memorial bench or special equipment, please include a letter with your donation indicating your wishes. Our park was built thanks to a generous financial gift to the Animal Welfare Society (AWS) of West Kennebunk in 2004. The AWS invited the community to get involved and an enthusiastic group of dog lovers soon began laying the plans. The town of Kennebunk graciously allocated a site on Sea Road for the park, and the all-volunteer Committee prepared and fenced in the grounds. We continue to manage the park by coordinating administrative matters, maintaining the grounds, sponsoring events, and raising funds. The Committee welcomes anyone interested in participating to contact us. • • • • • • Dogs must be under owner control at all times; Owners are responsible for picking up their dog’s waste; Owners must accompany dog(s) inside fenced area; A maximum of 2 dogs per owner, please; No smoking, food, alcohol or glass containers; and No children under 12 years of age allowed in fenced area.
