I, Nicole Brown, have sometimes been told that I do a pretty good job of that with my red hair, red shirt, and well... my red face. But although we color the world with red, we color the world with multiple other colors as well. For example, there could be a different color for each of our FCCLA purposes. Personal development for adult life could be green for hopeful; strengthening the function of the family as the color orange for strength; encouraging cooperation at home could be a light purple for growth; and encouraging groups to be involved could be a blue for confidence. The list goes on for the other half of our purposes. We must remember to continuously not only color our world with red, but also with green, orange, purple, blue, and a variety of other colors that could describe us. I hope that you all take away from this that you don’t have to be or show just one color, for FCCLA has a rainbow of colors we show. Please allow me to help color the world of others this year as a 2016-2017 Illinois State Officer.
