support, Time-Distance Graph, simulation, playback, and asset planning.
Open Architecture
ICONISTM design is based on PC
architecture using the WindowsTM
operating system. This open architecture results in systems that are flexible,
modular, and cost-effective.
The modularity of ICONISTM promotes
distributed hardware control where
any workstation may be used for
supervisory control functions at any
time. Operating over wide- and
local area networks, railroad can distribute control functionality to improve
resource utilization.

In relation with operational
resources such as infrastructure,
rollingstock, etc., and according to
the traffic priorities and constraints,
this feature provides a high-level
of traffic plan management by
performing time-consuming
consistency checks including
automated meet pass planning.
Time-Distance Graph
Allows the visual representation of all
train paths in a district versus time
graph (Train Graph) and the detected
conflicts between the anticipated train
movements. This function is integrated
within the dispatcher console and
enhances the ability of the dispatcher
to co-ordinate train movements quickly
and reliably.
On-Board Computer Management
Central office integration with on board
computer equipment, to provide:
• Automated data entry and exchange
• Dynamic on-board display of track
conditions
• Real-time position reporting
• Automated exchange of authorizations
(warrants, track blocks, speed
restrictions, etc.) with locomotives and/
or MOW vehicles
• Equipment status monitoring and data
collection

validation (auto-fill, autorestrict, etc.)
