Lynn’s Pen Safety Tips when walking around the lake. Remember that walking with a buddy is always helpful in case of an emergency and makes the walk more enjoyable for some. We have added “Buddy Walk” to the weekend calendar and encourage residents to meet with other walkers at designated times or arrange your own Buddy Walk times and days. Have a walk time for residents on your floor each week. Take your cell phone with you in case of emergency. Put the Front Desk number in your phone (404-633-8875). Glance down with your eyes to look for uneven sidewalk or debris as you walk. Keep your body as upright as you can, use canes, walkers or walking sticks to help if needed. Watch out for shuffling feet. Enjoy the walk. Three times around the lake should be about one mile. You can walk all three at once, or split the walk up to several times a day for less times around in the morning and again later in the day. When we schedule a walk in the park sign up. You can bring your walkers, canes or poles to get out and enjoy the great outdoors and some new scenery. Help with using your computer.
