If you missed it, shame on you!!
If you missed it, shame on you!! The third
installment of Chase'n Race'n Illustrated KartMania
was by far the best! This year's show, moved to Myrtle
Beach SC, again attracted the "A" list of exhibitors,
which in turn, drew a decent number of karting enthusiasts to the vacation destination, and the beautiful
Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Traffic in the show hall was brisk all weekend,
and all the exhibitors we spoke with were pleased with
the crowd, the facility, and the show in general. The
only concern raised was the location being so far East,
but it didn't seem to be a dire concern.
Early feedback has been very positive, with the exception of very few who still feel that everything rac-
ing related should be centered along the Charlotte NC
- Greenville SC I-85 corridor. For those, I encourage
you to get out of the neighborhood once in awhile,
there's a pretty nice country out here!
Some exhibitors knocked it out of the park with
their displays. Matt Bryant's Palmetto Speed Shop
stepped up and showed off with the best trade show
display this ol' boy has ever seen!! Bryant dreamed
it, and JHE Production's Brandon Stegall made it happen!
The crew constructed a 20x20 "store" in the exhibit hall, to
house a mini version of Bryant's Conway SC retail location.
Hi-Tech Racing / Millenium Racing Chassis also
utilized Stegall's expertise to "fancy up" their display, which
featured two of the new Faktor frames suspended from the
scaffold, and lit with color changing spotlights.
Billy West Jr won the raffle for the brand new Millenium
Faktor.
Many exhibitors simply "kept it classy" with clean,
neat, and effective displays.
Titan raffle winner was Bobby Perry.
At the conclusion of the show, exhibitors quickly dismantled displays in record time, and many readied for the
upcoming Maxxis National Championship banquet scheduled for later Saturday evening. Again, under the guidance of
Patti Owens, Maxxis and Goldspeed USA knocked it out of the ballpark with the banquet. This annual tradition continues
to set the bar dangerously high for anyone choosing to keep up!! The Sheraton Grand Ballroom filled to capacity with the
2014 national champions and their families, along with staff members and other "special invitees". Everyone was treated
to a feast second to none, before award presentations.
During the award presentations, emcee Nick Thunder kept the crowd entertained and one by one, each champion
received that coveted champions AD Leathers jacket, a championship ring, and the elusive Eagle trophy, before being
given time to thank those responsible for their successful season and championship run.
