Woman police officer from Adilabad conquers Mt Everest
Additional superintendent of police of Adilabad district GR Radhika
created a new record by scaling Mount Everest. Radhika, 36, has
become the first woman police officer from South India to climb the
highest peak in the world. Also, she was the only woman member of the
team that scaled the Everest. She climbed Mount Everest from the
northern side at a height of 8,850 metres in 36 days. On April 11 she
reached Kathmandu in Nepal and from there Radhika, along with her
team, reached the base camp No.1 near Lhasa in Tibet on April 14.
However, she had to wait for 10 days at the base camp as the Chinese
government delayed clearing her immigration. Also, tremors kept the
team of mountaineers away from trekking. The 10-member team included three foreigners, six Indians and an NRI from Dubai. After the
10-day delay, the team went on to climb Mount Everest and achieve
the rare feat on Friday.
Mother of two children, Radhika is also the first Indian woman to
conquer the 7,077-metre Kun mountain, the twin of Nun, located in the
inhospitable Zanskar range of the Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir,
on September 7, 2015 after a gruelling climb for over 10 days.
The Indian Mountaineering Foundation declared her to be holding
the record for an Indian woman. She finished her basic and advanced
mountaineering courses and climbed the 5,980 metre-high Golep Kangri
peak, also in the harsh Zanskar Range in 2013. A native to Anantapur
district of Andhra Pradesh, she was selected as deputy superintendent of police in 2007.
She also served as an assault commander in the elite anti-Naxal
force, Greyhounds. Radhika served as DSP of Nellore district from
2009 to 2011. In 2012, she was posted as Karimnagar Range DSP and
elevated as additional SP in 2015 and posted in Adilabad district. Radhika
is a lecturer-turned-police officer. On the policing front, Radhika was
instrumental in bringing about a change in Kajjarla village in Talamadugu
mandal of the district, which she adopted. Radhika took the initiave of
making the village liquor-free and brought about the change by counselling the villagers on the ill effects of consuming alcohol.

With Smile
Come with a wish and it is fulfilled !That’s
the charisma of big boss Anurag Sharma ,who
listens to his team with patience, understands
their problems, needs and help them out with
some easy solutions. They come tensed and
leave with a big smile.Their grievances are
resolved once they meet him and it is done !
Things are pretty cool under his command,
be it policing, transfers or postings.A real super cop !
June, 2016
Inn….
The Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma will be in for
another three months till next August 30.The CM himself brought
this matter to the notice of the PM, this shows the impact & the
need of Sharma's services for the government.
King-Size Kallam
Ajay Kallam is one of the preferred officer in all the
governments. The officer who has top portfolios like commercial taxes, excise, registration & stamps is also work for
finance department.That's why we said king-size Kallam….!
Not Again
As per the sources AP government’s proposal to grant three months extension to DGP
J.V.Ramudu, with this news the officer who
missed the chance earlier has to wait again. All
know who are the officers in the race, not to
mention their names, as already they are in distress. That's why we say not again.
No Pending
Officer PV.Ramesh, who is posted as principal secretary
environment, forests, science & technology will also be development commissioner & ex-officio principal secretary to the
AP CM.He will handle pending related issues...! Now he will be
on ‘no pending ‘campaign.
Jai ho
GHMC Commissioner Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy had
a hectic month followed by many initiatives.First comes
the 24x7 emergency services during the recent stormy
winds followed by heavy rains in the city. Officer called
a meeting with various departments to save the
trees.Another one is the Job Mela through which around
489 youth got employment. The corruption is controlled
because of the immense use of online services. Now
the officer is busy in Ramazan festival arrangements.
That’s the reason he is endorsed as ‘Jai ho’.
Social Singh
Shamsher Singh Rawat will be now in the role of ‘social’, the officer will now look into social welfare work, as
secretary of the SW department.
Lav in Revenue
Just Watch
A team of the officers visited US & UK to study
the surveillance system in place in cities like Washington DC and London. The Hyderabad Police Chief
M.Mahendar Reddy already took a step ahead in
installing the CCTV cameras around the city.We want
to endorse that after the trip the officer will definitely
go for implementation, whichever is needed for city
police. That's why we said to watch the new additions
from the officer, who is very particular.
Why !
Why the Visakhapatnam city Police Commissioner
Amit Garg has been transferred is a discussion in the
power corridor, it's a well known fact that the politicians
were not able to continue their ‘netagiri’ in Amit's regime,
so they started influencing the CM whenever he visited
the city. It’s an unfair trend and a loss to the government.
In transfer the officer is posted as IG (P&L).
Hello Vizag
Offcier T.Yoganand took over as commissioner of police of Visakhapatnam. It’s a
key posting and some of the officers were
dreaming for it, but ultimately the government picked a officer with a clean profile for
the posting. Best choice…!
First
The cool cop B.Malla Reddy, who is promoted to rank
of IG is posted as Managing Director of newly-formed
Telangana State Police Housing Corporation. As till now
DG rank officer held the post, but now this post is scaled
down to IG rank. So, Mr.Reddy will be the first MD of the
Corporation.Mr.Reddy is a very soft & a sincere officer.
Laddha in IB
Vijayawada city Addl. CP Mahesh Chandra Laddha
has been promoted to IG and posted as IG intelligence, which is considered to be the crucial posting. In
fact this is the best choice,as the officer profile suits
for a department like IB.
The lovely officer Lav Agarwal is the new commissioner of
disaster management and ex-officio secretary of revenue (DM)
department. Khass baat is, where ever the officers goes sets
an example.

As always the lady officer Smita Sabharwal is on
working mode, no question of stopping for a while.
Whether cleaning of files or any issues pertaining to
her subjects, things move perfectly & on time. So,
better to agree, appreciate the officer and accept this
rather than interfering unnecessarily.Let the intelligent media also understand it.
Go green
Bullet Speed

safe drinking water free of cost. The SCB CEO Sujatha
Gupta will lead the go green campaign. The awesome &
the outstanding lady officer is still in the headlines.
Applaud
This cop is again on screen and this time his efforts are been appreciated on national level.Talking
about Cyberabad police chief C.v.Anand and the ‘snake
gang’ because of his efforts the dangerous gang is
been punished by the judiciary. This case has increased
more trust & faith on the khakis and created a fear into
the people who are involved in the illegal act.
Good one
Officer Y.Nagi Reddy posted as IGP, North
Zone, the officer was serving as Addl.CP (SB) earlier to the posting. The officer is known for his hard
work in the bureaucracy, his performance earned
him this, which is quite a ‘good ’ post.

Dr. Akun Sabharwal, who has shaken the drug industry with his tight monitoring is the new DIG of
Hyderabad range. In fact the young officer was also holding the Director post in Prohibition & Excise. So, after the
best performance he is all set for a new task.
Back

for the Water Board and that’s the reason he is

Oman's National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The statistics also reflects a growth of 60
per cent in Indian arrivals in the nation on the Arabian Peninsula in the last five years. "The increase is very
encouraging and reflects all the hard work we have put in promoting and marketing the destination in India.
"In 2014, we started promoting Oman as an ideal wedding destination for Indians as Muscat is close
to India. Our efforts were rewarded as we witnessed several large-scale weddings in the last two years,"
Oman Tourism Ministry's India Representative Lubaina Sheerazi said in a release here.
She said MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism in Oman has also seen
an increase and the country will make efforts at hosting more such events.
Muscat has recently seen growth in the MICE market and this is expected to expand even faster with
the opening of a new Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in the capital, Sheerazi said.
South Africa to launch campaign to attract
Indian tourists
South Africa has identified India as a key focus market for boosting tourism and it will
shortly launch an aggressive campaign to attract tourists from there.
South African Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom announced this at the INDABA tourism
fair here. He said that the country had received more than 80,000 Indian tourists last year and
his ministry planned to dedicate to India a significant part of its advertising budget of nearly $8
million this year, with the objective of boosting significantly the arrivals from India.
“India has a huge potential and our challenge is to see what is needed in order for this
market to grow and for us to get a fair share of the huge pool of Indian travellers,” Hanekom
told this correspondent. He said Indian travellers felt at home in South Africa as they had a
very large population of people of Indian origin, especially in Durban.
“Mahatma Gandhi had also lived here in Durban. Here, just like in India, we have different
cultures and different religions living in harmony with one another,” he added.
INDABA, which means gathering in Zulu, has positioned itself as the largest tourism fair
in the African continent and attracts participation from all African countries which come to
display their new products and services, as tourism is an essential sector for creating
employment as well as economic growth in the least developed continent in the world.
India expects 9 lakh South East Asian tourists
Some 900,000 South East Asian tourists are expected to visit India this year, up by about
15 per cent as compared to last year, boosted by e-Visas and a wide range of marketing
campaigns carried out in the region. "We are expecting 15 per cent increase in South East
Asian tourists visiting India this year, especially boosted by the introduction of e-Visa and our
promotional campaign across the region," said R K Suman, Assistant Director at India Tourism office in Singapore. Last year, he estimated there was a 10 per cent on the year increase
in South East Asian tourist visitors or over 754,000 to India. This year, some 900,000 tourists
from the region are expected to visit India.
Suman promoted India's tourism sector across seven of the 10 countries in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) region last year. He plans to expand the promotional activities and campaigns to Cambodia, Laos and Bruneinfrom this year, completing the
entire markets in the grouping. "We have a wide range of promotional programmes in the
ASEA region, through media and television network, as well as public buses which are
especially painted with Indian tourist attractions," he said. Suman has an elaborate Indian
tourist destinations programmes, saying he is bullish on the ASEAN tourists and aims to
maintain a strong double-digit annual growth in traffic flow.
In Khajuraho, foreign tourist footfall decreases
Over the last decade the temple
town of Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh
has seen a gradual increase in the
number of Indian tourists visiting the
world heritage site. But the number of
foreign visitors has been steadily declining from the peak registered a few
years back. In 2006, only 1.64 lakh Indian tourists visited these temples. But
in 2015, the number rose to 2.79 lakh.
On the other hand, the number of foreign tourists declined from 73,843 in
2006 to 65,034 in 2015. The best seasons in the recent past in terms of foreign tourists were
2011 and 2012, when nearly one lakh each year visited the small town of 30,000 people in
Chhatarpur district. Interestingly, Khajuraho, which depends solely on tourism and has star
hotels and eateries specialising in foreign cuisines, is not celebrating the growing number of
Indian tourists. “We cater only to those who spend at least a night here as tourists, not those
who travel from nearby places carrying their food and water and buy nothing,’’ said Anuj
Shukla, a member of the Dharohar Guide Association, who recently hosted Nobel Prize
winner Kailash Satyarthi. Many cited poor air connectivity and bad press over harassment of
foreign tourists as factors that have hit business. “I am hosting Japanese tourists after a gap
of six months,’’ said Raj Kishore Tiwari, a government-approved guide.

Kerala Tourism makes further inroads in China
Kerala Tourism has showcased the
best of Gods Own Country at the Beijing
International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2016,
one of the worlds most prestigious travel
and trade fairs.
It was for the second time Kerala was
featured at the annual forum, which
brings together major players in the
hugely lucrative Chinese outbound tourism market, widely considered the
worlds largest by volume, Kerala Tourism said in a statement here today.
Led by Kerala Tourism Director U V Jose, the team saw judicious representation from the
states leading hoteliers, Ayurvedic resorts and tour operators. According to Jose, the state
"aspires to augment the strong destination pull it already enjoys. The modern traveller in
general, and the Chinese visitor in particular, is always expanding his/her horizons, seeking
out ever newer experiences," he said. "The objective of such tourism facilitation initiatives
and participation in such high-profile industry events is to highlight the wondrous possibilities
on offer in Kerala,? the official added. To this end, the expansive Kerala pavilion sought to
renew the focus on the state?s rich legacy of martial arts, holistic medical traditions, the
beauty of its backwaters and its snakeboat races. As was the case last year, the display was
an instant hit with the hosts and the Kerala stand saw an impressive number of footfalls as
also inquiries ? particularly about Ayurveda. "It speaks to the successful branding and
marketing of Kerala that most of the visitors to the state pavilion knew about our Ayurveda,
Kalaripayattu and our backwaters," Jose said.
Government to sell off 14 ITDC hotels
Fourteen out of 16 perennially loss making hotels
owned by state-run ITDC will be sold off and the process to privatise them has already started, Tourism
and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said today. The
Minister said the Finance Ministry is taking forward the
disinvestment plan to totally offload government's
stakes in all the ITDC-run hotels except the Ashoka
and Samrat hotels in the national capital.
He said the government decided to privatise the
hotels to improve the financial health of India Tourism
Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking that currently runs 16 hotels in Delhi, Patna,
Jammu, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Bhopal, Bharatpur,
Jaipur, Guwahati, Mysore, Puducherry and Itanagar.
"The process to privatise the 14 hotels has already
been started. There are certain issues with the states and we are trying to address them," he
told. During NDA's first stint in power between 1999 and 2004, the then Vajpayee government
had divested its stakes in 18 ITDC hotels, bringing down the number of state-run hotels from
34 to 16. Asked about the amount of money the government was eyeing to raise from the
sale of the hotels, he refused to give any figure.
The Minister also said the issue of appointing a brand ambassador of Incredible India
campaign was "not pending" before the government. He was asked whether Tourism Ministry has put on hold appointment of Amitabh Bachchan as face of the Incredible India campaign after his name appeared in the Panama Papers controversy. "The issue of appointing
a brand ambassador is not pending before our government," he said.
Land of Origins - Ethiopia, trying to woo
Indian tourists
ADDIS ABABA: In a bid to renew its
historical and cultural ties with India and
boost its economy through tourism, Ethiopia has launched efforts to woo Indians,
who otherwise come to the archaeologically-rich country only for business purposes. "India has a lot of potential. We have
many common things with India including
cultural and political. We have to explore it
and start working to get more Indian tourists to Ethiopia,"Solomon Tadesse , CEO, Ethiopian
Tourism Organisation said. Keeping the interests of the Indian middle-class in mind, Tadesse
said that they are working towards cost-effective methods and Ethiopia Airlines , the national
carrier of Ethiopia has been working in this respect. "A lot of Chinese tourists come here for
business. Indians have been coming to Ethiopia for business but not as tourists. So we are
working to get more Indian tourists and our national carrier 'Ethiopian Airlines' is contributing
to this. This will be cost-effective and would help the Indian middle-class get to know more
about our country," Tadesse said. Ethiopia, in the Horn of Africa, is a rugged, landlocked
country split by the Great Rift Valley. With archaeological finds dating back more than 3 million
years, it's a place of ancient culture. Since 1960s, many Indians have come to Ethiopia as
teachers and have taught various languages among other subjects.
"Indians came in 1960 as teachers and taught different languages. In fact my headmaster was an Indian. So we have a long connection with India," he said. Asked how the
government plans to popularise Ethiopia as a tourist destination in India, Tadesse said that
they are organising roadshows - which are a threesome of the embassies, airlines office and
tourism organisation.
"We are organising roadshows in India. We are also inviting potential mega tour operators along with our local tour operators. Its a one-day drill where we also make presentation
about Ethiopia's potential," Tadesse added.
