AUTHENTICATION AND LEGALIZATION

The Philippine Embassy, through the Consular Section, performs authentication/legalization
functions in the context of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
1. Authentication of FOREIGN DOCUMENTS for use in the Philippines
Step 1: The applicant must first have the document/s authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the country where the document/s were issued (e.g., Austria, Croatia, Slovakia,
Slovenia);

Step 2: The document/s are then translated into English by a licensed translator;
Step 3: Photocopies and original of all documents to be authenticated should be submitted to
the Philippine Embassy in Vienna;
Step 4: The Philippine Embassy in Vienna authenticates the signature/seal of the Foreign
Ministry Official who authenticated the document/s in the country of origin;
Step 5: Payment of Authentication fee of 22.50EUR per document.
Note to applicants:

- The Philippine Embassy in Vienna will not process documents that do not have the
following:
1.
1. Signature of the Foreign Ministry Official who authenticates in the document's country of
origin; and
2. Seal of the corresponding Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Additional Requirements for POSTAL DELIVERY of Authenticated Documents
- Self-addressed envelope.

2. Authentication of PHILIPPINE DOCUMENTS for use in Austria, Croatia, Slovakia and
Slovenia

Step 1: The applicant must first have the Philippine document/s authenticated by the
Department of Foreign Affairs;
Step 2: For use in Austria: The document/s are then authenticated by the Austrian Embassy in
the Philippines;
For use in Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia: The documents need not be authenticated by the
Austrian Embassy in the Philippines
Step 3: Photocopies and original of all documents to be authenticated should be submitted to
the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, Austria for authentication.
Note: Authentication of the Philippine Embassy in Vienna may no longer be needed if
authentication is already done by the Austrian Embassy in the Philippines.
Step 4: Payment of Authentication fee of 25.00EUR per document

Die Konsularabteilung der philippinischen Botschaft führt die Beglaubigungs- & LegalisierungsFunktionen im Rahmen des 1983 Wiener Übereinkommens über konsularische Beziehungen.
1. Beglaubigung von AUSLÄNDISCHEN DOKUMENTEN für die Verwendung auf den

Philippinen
Schritt 1: Der Antragsteller muss das Dokument zunächst von einem beeidigtem Übersetzer
auf Englisch übersetzen lassen;
Schritt 2: Das Dokument wird dann durch das Außenministerium des Landes in dem das
Dokument ausgestellt wurde (z.B. Österreich, Kroatien, Slowakei, Slowenien), beglaubigt;
Schritt 3: Alle Dokumente – Fotokopie und Original – müssen zum Beglaubigen, bei der
philippinischen Botschaft in Wien eingereicht werden.
Schritt 4: Die philippinische Botschaft in Wien beglaubigt die Unterschrift/das Siegel eines
Unterschriftsberechtigten des Außenministeriums, der das Dokument im Herkunftsland
beglaubigt hat.

Schritt 5: Beglaubigungsgebühr je Dokument: 22,50 EUR.
Hinweis an die Antragsteller:
- —Die Bearbeitung von Dokumenten wird nicht von der philippinischen Botschaft in Wien
durchgeführt wenn:
1.
1. das Dokument die Unterschrift des Unterschriftsberechtigten des Außenministeriums im
Herkunftsland nicht trägt; und
2. das Dokument das Siegel des entsprechenden Außenministeriums nicht trägt.

2. Beglaubigung von PHILIPPINISCHEN DOKUMENTEN für die Verwendung in
Österreich, Kroatien, der Slowakei und Slowenien
Schritt 1: Ausgestellte philippinische Urkunden, müssen erst vom Ministerium für auswärtige
Angelegenheiten in Manila beglaubigt werden.
Schritt 2: Für eine Verwendung in Österreich: Die beglaubigte Urkunde benötigt eine
Zwischenbeglaubigung der österreichischen Botschaft in Manila, Philippinen und eine
Überbeglaubigung vom Legalisierungsbüro des BMeiA in Wien.
Für eine Verwendung in Kroatien, der Slowakei und Slowenien: Die beglaubigte Urkunde
benötigt KEINE Zwischenbeglaubigung der österreichischen Botschaft in Manila, Philippinen.
Schritt 3: Die Philippinische Botschaft in Wien, Österreich ist zuständig für die Anbringung
einer Zwischenbeglaubigung an alle beglaubigten Urkunden – Photokopie und Original.
