MARKET DATA CIRCULAR – ACTION REQUIRED
Final Settlement Prices for Power Month Futures July 2016
Leipzig, 21/07/2016 – The final settlement prices for Power Futures are determined on the
EPEX Spot SE Day-Ahead spot market after the last auction of the respective delivery period.
Due to the seven days trading, situations can arise in which the auction for the last delivery day
of the period takes place on a Saturday or a Sunday. As a result of this, either the expiry dates
of the contracts concerned have to be adjusted in the EUREX system (scenario A) or, if required, a manual balancing entry (scenario B) has to be carried out (see EEX Customer Information from 15 January 2014).
In July 2016 scenario B will materialize: As the last delivery day of the affected contracts is a
Sunday, the adjustment of the expiry dates will not be possible. For this reason, these contracts already expire in the EUREX system on Friday, as it has been the case so far. However,
the final settlement prices can only be determined after the auction.
Therefore, EEX will determine preliminary final settlement prices for Power Month Future contracts on 29 July 2016 and adjust them on 1 August 2016. Please note that this applies to all
Base and Off-Peak Futures and to Phelix and French non-MTF Futures in the table below.

Schlussabrechnungspreise für Power Month Futures Juli 2016
Leipzig, 21.07.2016 – Die Schlussabrechnungspreise für die Power Futures werden nach der
letzten Auktion der jeweiligen Lieferperiode am Day-Ahead-Spotmarkt der EPEX SPOT SE
festgelegt. Aufgrund des 7-Tage-Handels kann die Situation eintreten, dass die Auktion für den
letzten Liefertag der Lieferperiode an einem Samstag bzw. Sonntag erfolgt. Infolgedessen
müssen entweder die Verfallstage der betroffenen Kontrakte im EUREX-System angepasst
(Szenario A) oder ggf. eine manuelle Ausgleichsbuchung (Szenario B) durchgeführt werden
(siehe EEX Kundenmitteilung vom 15. Januar 2014).
Im Juli 2016 wird das Szenario B eintreten: Da der letzte Liefertag der betroffenen Kontrakte
ein Sonntag ist, wird eine Anpassung der Verfallstage an diesem Tag nicht möglich sein. Aus
diesem Grund verfallen die Kontrakte im EUREX-System unverändert bereits am Freitag, der
Schlussabrechnungspreis kann aber erst nach der Auktion festgestellt werden.
Daher wird die EEX am 29. Juli 2016 vorläufige Schlussabrechnungspreise für StromMonatsfuture-Kontrakte bestimmen und diese am 1. August 2016 anpassen. Bitte beachten
Sie, dass dies auf sämtliche Base und Off-Peak Futures sowie auf die Phelix und French nonMTF Futures in der nachstehenden Tabelle zutrifft.
