JR & SR Boys Volleyball here @ Bishop Grandin beginning with the SR Boys at 5pm!
Girls Soccer Team plays at Shouldice Soccer #17 where they’ll take on Crescent Heights @ 4:30pm!
Volleyball and Soccer Individual Athlete Photos - Tuesday, October 7th
All girls soccer players and any volleyball players (including jr boys) who have not had their individual
photo taken, please meet with Mrs. Gratton in the Active Living hallway Tuesday at the lunch bell. You
MUST be wearing your team jersey to have your picture taken.
Congratulations to the Junior Girls volleyball team who won the Jasper Place (Edmonton) tournament
this weekend! They managed to pull off a 6-0 record. Also, congratulations to the senior girls who made
it to the semi finals and fell short to Bev Facey.
Cross Country Athletes: Please meet Mrs. Gratton outside Mr. Blanchfield’s room C109 Wednesday
at lunch in your team shirt to get your individual picture taken for the Active Living hallway.

MATH LEAGUE - Interested in Math?? Want to compete in contests for free cafeteria lunches?
Information meeting Tues., Oct. 7th, at lunch in room C203. See you there!!
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: Are you new to Canada? If so, please join our program. We meet
every Tuesday in room A206 at 3:45 pm. This program focuses on settlement through many
field trips, volunteering, holiday celebrations, guest speakers, and food! Pick up an application
from Mrs. Eremko in A206.
BRIDGE TUTORIALS are available Monday to Thursday from 3:35 to 5:30 in room C116. Get
homework help from both peers and tutors.
SPEECH CLUB There will be a speech club meeting at the lunch bell today in room B010.
Permission forms will be handed out at this time. Thank you.
CULTURE CLUB - Activities in room A206 Tuesday at lunch. Come and join us.
YMAP Program - ELL students Level 5 are invited to join this excellent program after school. The
commitment is one day a week and comes with a free Y membership. If you are interested, see
Ms. Graham in room C116 for more details.

AROUND THE SCHOOL:
BUS PASS SCANNING will begin today at LUNCH TIME ONLY for the next 2 weeks.
Attention Grade 12 French students wishing to write the D.E.L.F. exam: This is an international
diploma officially awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify foreign candidates’
proficiency in French. It will be written here on November 17. Interested students should pick
up an information letter and registration form from Mme Timmons in B203. Registration must be
completed by October 15 and requires a fee of $120.00.
A reminder that the school nurse is here every Tuesday from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
LANGUAGE CHALLENGE EXAMS - Any grade 12 student wishing to challenge the French 30,
Filipino 30 or Spanish 30 exam this semester must attend a mandatory meeting at the lunch
bell on Thursday, October 9, in room B203. This session is for grade 12s only. There will be
another opportunity for other students to challenge these exams in the spring.

● The Out of Province Post-Secondary Fair is Oct. 28 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Bishop Grandin
● U of C’s Open House is on Nov. 1 from 10 am to 3 pm
*Please note: All of the open houses are being held on the institution’s campus. However, the U of A will be hosting
an event in Calgary on Saturday, October 25. See counselling for more info.
