What you think, you become” (Buddha) Open Day Thank you to everyone for helping to ensure the Open Morning and Evening were such a success. Particular thanks must go to the Year 8 'Tour Guides' who played a key part in the event and our visitors were very complimentary about their role. The Years 5 and 6 choir must also be congratulated on their first public performance which was an excellent opening to the evening. A number of pupils gave up their time to help in the evening and were great ambassadors for the school. Working together as a TEAM, we were able to show prospective parents/carers the opportunities and facilities Greneway has to offer. As Headteacher, I felt proud and privileged to be part of the Greneway Team. House Assemblies This week, the prospective House Captains met their House teams to deliver presentations about why they felt they would make good House Captains. All pupils had worked hard to prepare for their presentations and the results were impressive. Pupils in each House voted and congratulations go to the following pupils who will lead their Houses this year: House Captains: Vice Captains: Freddie Ball Daisy Needham Chloe Mills Rebekah Timms Aman Yohannes Hadyn Morgan Emily Pendrick Lucy Holden Sam Newland Kathryn Ealand Josh Leighton Amelie Anderton Zara Bonfield Sophie Dodds Owen Wood Mackenzie Cramman Charlotte Mayhead Callum Tompkins Crow Ermine Rose Stag We look forward to hearing from the House Captains in future editions of the newsletter and learning which charities we will be supporting this year. Mrs Rawlings Open Day by Report Josh Clark-Radford On Wednesday 8th October, Greneway children witnessed Year 4 parents from First and Primary Schools walking around our school. The parents have to make a hard decision, they have to decided whether to choose Greneway, a decision that will lead to their future. As I was walking around, I saw them taking a lot in and all their children really enjoyed the tours. Some adults said: The children are so positive. Greneway is a lovely school which helps the community. I have enjoyed the tour. The cookies were amazing! It’s big!! The pupils were polite and helpful. School Jumpers We have a number of second hand school jumpers available. Please contact the school office if you would like more information about available sizes. £2.00 donation per jumper Do you have a ‘family’ email address? It might be useful to create a family email address that is used when signing up to anything online. This will help you to monitor what your child is accessing online.
