August 2012
Kathy’s Connection~
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather. It is hard to believe it is August already.
Joie and I have been reviewing some new programs that we hope will start in the fall. As soon as
we have confirmation of these programs we will advertise them in the newsletter.
I want to THANK everyone who has made a donation of some kind this past month. Whether it
was the United States Flag, a bookcase for the woodcarvers, office supplies & kitchen supplies is
very much appreciated.
Look next month in the newsletter and on our web page for the date of our annual Flu Shot Clinic
and Health Fair. We do know it will be in October, the date has not been confirmed as of right
now.
We are very happy to see Darlene our bread lady back. The company that supplies her with all the
goodies had a distribution problem. Thank you Darlene for all your hard work!
Remember the Genesee County Fair Senior Day is Tuesday, August 14th starting
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many vendors will be there. There will be door prizes also. I hope to see
you out there.
Remember, each and everyone of you make us what we are today… “A SUCCESS”.
Thank you,
Kathy

VAAA Vacation Respite Program
Available through September 20, 2012
“When you are caring for a loved one on a daily
basis, you can become overwhelmed with all the
responsibilities. The success of this program has
been unbelievable, but most importantly the program
has improved the quality of life for our most

program is to lesson the burden of caregivers who
provide at-home support for an elderly or disabled
person.
The Vacation Respite Program allows for the care
recipient to attend one of VAAA’s contracted out of
home respite facilities at no cast to the participant.
Openings are limited. To be eligible for the
