A Message from our Pastor
Dear Friends of St. Gerald:
I always look forward to our Annual Guardian Angel Dinner Auction. In fact, I begin thinking
about this event at least six months in advance because that is when the planning
begins in earnest. The leadership team that was announced at last year’s event,
began hatching new ideas right from the beginning. I love the Run for the Roses
Theme. The possibilities of dressing up in this Kentucky Derby Theme makes
for a fun evening. Our gym is transformed into an elegant banquet hall for the
community that supports our School to come together and celebrate. The horse,
called STG, is an “odds on favorite” to win our race tonight.
St. Gerald Catholic Grade School is on the move providing a great education to 380 children in an atmosphere that is colored with our Catholic Values
and is lit by the Light of Christ. And you are the benefactors who help keep the
light burning brightly. Christ shines through all of you this evening.
We are especially excited about the grant from the Ignite the Faith Campaign which will totally cover the remodel to create the space for a Pre-Kindergarten program for this
coming school year. The grant will get us up and running by purchasing all the supplies needed.
The Guardian Angel Dinner Auction event provides necessary funds to help our school keep
tuition costs down. The income is folded into the school budget and planning for spending follows the
master plan the school has for sustainability and improvements.
I want to acknowledge our Co-Chair Couples who work tirelessly to organized this huge event:
Mike & Nancy Courtney, Jeff & Carri Siedlik and Jeff & Tiffanie Wright.

A Message from our Principal
Dear St. Gerald School Families and Friends,
What an exciting year this has been for St. Gerald School! We have been
approved for an Archdiocesan Excellence in Education Grant from the Ignite the
Faith campaign. With these funds, we will be remodeling an area of the school to
add a Pre-K classroom and equip it with its own bathroom, furnishings, and learning
centers! This important addition to our school helps to ensure sustainability and
feed enrollment. Additionally, thanks to the generosity of St. Gerald parishioners,
we will have an upgrade to the school’s heating and air conditioning systems this summer. The willingness of our families to volunteer, donate, and to assist with whatever the school needs
is very heartwarming. This dedication to the success of St. Gerald Catholic School is key to its future.
The willingness of people to give freely of their time and energy is what defines a successful school community. The school and staff are forever grateful to those who support our efforts, whether financially
or with their time. This event tonight is a testament to the passion for Catholic education and academic
excellence that underlies the St. Gerald community. Catholic education involves more than educating the
mind – it requires educating the heart and soul as well. We are dedicated to graduating students who
are truly Disciples of Christ. We continually strive to instill the gospel values in our students along with an
attitude of service to others and gratitude. Speaking for the staff and myself, we are grateful for all of the
supporters attending tonight. Thank you for all you do for St. Gerald Catholic School!

There will be 4 pre-recorded horse races during dinner.
Each race lasts approximately 2-3 minutes.
You can participate in one or ALL four races.
Use your bidder number to buy a $20 race ticket.
One ticket minimum per race. Increase your odds by
buying multiple tickets for each race.
If your horse wins, you redeem your ticket with the odds paid
out in raffle tickets to be placed in the grand prize drawing.
For example: If your horse wins at 3 to 1, you win 3 raffle
tickets plus one more for your original $20 ticket investment
(or 4 raffle tickets).
Tickets are ready for purchase at the Teller Booth during
social hour and again during dinner.
You can’t be “in the money” if you don’t play!

If you would like to make a cash donation, there will
be two opportunities during the evening to do so at four
different giving levels. The levels are as follows:

$250....................... Large St. Gerald Pride Paw
$100........................ Small St. Gerald Pride Paw
Bidders contributing at the first two donation levels
(Guardian Angel and Angel of Love) will have their names
inscribed on a plaque displayed at St. Gerald School.
For every $250 or $100 donation, the bidder will
have their name displayed on a paw print at St. Gerald
School for the 2016-2017 school year.
You can view the current Pride Paws and Donor
Plaques in the hallway outside of Mrs. Buechler’s room.
During the silent auction until the last room closes,
you can sign your bid number to any of the 4 giving levels
at the table outside of Mrs. Buechler’s room. The table
will be located under the current Pride Paws and Donor
Plaques.
During the Live Auction, bidding will begin at the
$1,000 Guardian Angel Level and proceed until
all levels have been completed. Bidders can
accept a bid called by the auctioneer, at any
level, by raising their bid cards.

General Auction Rules
1. Each bidder is assigned a bid number. Use only the
bid number assigned to you. You are responsible for
any bid made with your number.

when checking in and sign their slip. That’s all there
is to it! No checking out. No waiting in line to sign
your credit card slip. Just go to the Chapel with your
invoice and pick up your purchases.
7. St. Gerald Parish makes no express or implied
warranties or representations of any kind or nature
with respect to the property or services of the donated
items. The buyer waives any claims for liability against
St. Gerald or the donor of the property or services
and neither St. Gerald nor the donor is responsible for
any personal injuries or damages to property that may
result from the use of property or services sold.
Any items purchased during the evening will be
charged to your card and shown on your invoice
delivered to your table. If you do not make any
purchases, no action will occur.

Silent Auction. Quick Check-Out customers may
present their invoice at the pick-up area.

and the bid amount on the bid sheet. Please check
the bid sheet carefully before placing your bid, making sure that the item on the bid sheet is the item you
