Thank you for coming out to support the Seldens Landing PTA in our 1st Annual Silent Auction!
Funds raised by the PTA help support educational and recreational activities and improvements for
our school, and help improve our children’s school experience in so many ways. Here’s a look at the
major projects funded by the Seldens Landing PTA over the past few years:
School Support – iReady, Teacher Classroom Supply Stipends, Teacher Enrichment
Reimbursements, “TAPS” Projects, Agendas for All Students, Promethean Board, Document
Cameras and Wireless Keyboards for Every Classroom
Community Building – Teacher/Staff Appreciation, Wonderful Wednesdays, Volunteer Recognition/
Breakfasts and Support for Local Business
Special Events – Back-to-School Picnic, Field Trip Transportation, Spooky Bingo, Movie Nights,
Cardinal Carnival, Skate Night, Silent Auction, Talent Show and the 5th Grade Promotion Party
Programs/Enrichment - WATCH DOG Dads, Odyssey of the Mind, DARE, Reflections Art Program,
Assemblies, Field Day, and the Jogging Program
School Gifts – School Beautification (murals, curtains, landscaping, benches), Playground
(equipment, shade structure, picnic tables), etc.
ASAP – The PTA runs a very popular and successful after-school activities program (called ASAP),
which offers three 6-week sessions of twenty plus class choices to our students. These classes range
from sports to dance to art to drama classes and everything in between.
Spirit Wear – Seldens Landing Spirit Wear is designed, ordered, and sold by the PTA.
The Seldens Landing PTA hopes to raise enough money this year to not only fund all of these items,
but also wishes to give a sizeable gift to our new neighborhood school, Steuart Weller. The more
money raised tonight and throughout the year, the more we have to contribute toward both Seldens
Landing and Steuart Weller!

BIDDING
Each guest will be given an auction booklet when they check-in at the registration desk the evening
of the auction. This booklet contains descriptions of all of the auction items that will be available
throughout the evening.
MINIMUM BIDS
Next to each item will be a bid sheet describing the item offered and the terms of purchase. Each
item will have a MINIMUM bid amount. You may not bid below the MINIMUM amount.
BID INCREMENTS
Each item will have a specific bid increment. This means that your bid must be at least that much
more than the current bid (i.e., if the current bid is $100 and the bidding increment is $10, you must
bid at least $110).
BIDDING ON AN ITEM
Please print your first and last name CLEARLY next to the bid amount on the bid sheets. If no bid
amount is listed, please write in your bid using the correct bidding increment.
DETERMINING THE WINNER
At the closing time of each auction area, the highest bid and bidder number will be circled. This will
be the WINNER of that item. Once an area is closed, a copy of the bid sheet with the winner circled
will remain on the auction table. You have the option of either paying for your item at that time with
a cashier or waiting until the other auction areas close to pay for all of the items you won in a single
transaction.

Payment for Auction Items
Items may be paid for by CHECK (payable to SELDENS LANDING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA) or
CREDIT CARD (Visa, Master Card, or AMERICAN EXPRESS). Payment is due at the conclusion of
the auction. Should you purchase two or more items, you may pay for them in one transaction. Upon
payment, purchasers are to pick up certificates or merchandise from the cashier area. However,
if the winner is no longer present at the auction, they will be notified that they have won as soon
as possible. Payment and pick up of merchandise will be expected by March 12 unless previously
discussed with the Charity Chairpersons.
Important Auction Information
Please note - placing a bid for an item constitutes a contract to purchase the item.
The cashier/check-out area will close at 11:00 PM. All Auction items must be purchased prior
to 11:00 PM.
Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. Please check all expirations and blackout dates
carefully. Unless otherwise stated, all auction items must be redeemed within one year of the date of
the auction.
You do not need to be present to win, but please be sure that the registration desk has your correct
contact information prior to departing.
Donors and purchasers are responsible for the propriety of any tax deduction they may take relating
to their donation or purchase.
All sales are final.
Fifth Grade Raffle Tickets
The Fifth Grade class has donated four tickets and a parking pass to the 2013 New York Giants/
Washington Redskins game at MetLife Stadium. Tickets are located in Section 317 Row 1 - seats 26
and 27 and Row 2 - seats 26 and 27 (aisle) a $450 value! Actual date will be determined when the
NFL schedule is released in the spring, and tickets will be delivered in July 2013. Raffle tickets cost
$10 and the drawing will be held at 10:15 p.m. Guests do not need to be present to win. Thank you
for supporting the Class of 2020!

centerpieces are filled with a variety of treats. Hidden in TWO of these centerpieces, you will find
two movies passes to the Cobb Theatres! Please no peeking! Each centerpiece is labeled with
an auction number which corresponds to the bid sheets that are located next to the centerpiece on
