care for the homeless and poor in our community.

Silent Auction Rules
1. The Silent Auction will begin 6:00 PM. At 7:15 PM, bidding will be suspended
while guests are seated for dinner. Bidding will reopen during dinner service at
approximately 8:00 PM. The close of the Auction will be announced from the stage
at 9:00 PM. Throughout the night, auction monitors will be available to answer
questions.
2.The starting bids are listed on each Bid Sheet. Each bid must surpass the previous
bid by the minimum increment listed at the top of each Bid Sheet.
***Each Bid Sheet has a different minimum increment.
Bids that do not meet the minimum increment will be voided.
3.If you think you had the highest bid but are not contacted at your dinner table,
please check at the auction display tables. The Auction Committee may have been
unable to find you or unable to read your handwriting. A copy of the Bid Sheet will
remain on the tables next to the item so that you may check to see if you were the
highest bidder.
4. I f you are presented a Bid Sheet(s) by an Auction Committee member, please stop
at the cashier’s table before you leave so that you can pay for, and pick up the item.
You may pay by check, or with VISA, Master Card, Discover or AmEx. You will
receive your item at checkout.
5. Values indicated for auction items are good faith estimates of the values of the
items or services donated to the Auction Committee. Following the Gala, you will
be provided with a receipt that will list both the fair market value of each item
purchased and the amount paid for each item. Your charitable contribution to
SOME is any amount paid for the goods and services in excess of fair market value.
Please save your receipt for your records in order to document the deductibility of
the individual items purchased.

ctual certificates will not be displayed. Certificates can be obtained after purchase
at the cashier’s table.

1215 John Fabian Carlson: “Opal Light”, Oil on Canvas
Renowned 19th Century painter of snow scenes, John Fabian Carlson
discovered the snow-laden regions of American landscape that would
later define his life’s work when his family emigrated from Sweden
to Buffalo, NY in 1883. He became the director of the Art Student’s
League’s summer school in Woodstock, NY. He remained at Woodstock
until 1918, when he moved to Colorado Springs to co-direct the
Broadmore Academy of Art. Carlson later returned to Woodstock to
open the John Fabian Carlson School of Landscape Painting where he
taught until his death in 1945.
