On Saturday, August 7, 2010, a Mammoth community yard sale will be held from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Mammoth Community Center and throughout Lower Mammoth. A market for everyone. Yellowstone Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Mitch Barrett - Singer/Songwriter Mitch Barrett is one of Kentucky’s most sought-after and talented sons. This award winning singer/songwriter and storyteller has won several songwriting competitions, most recent: The 2009 Telluride Troubadour Competition, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Lyons, CO; the Merlefest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition (2 X’s); and the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Competition. Payment is required for all words in the ad! You may drop off ads at Chamber Office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by using the conveniently located drop-box outside the Chamber office. Fair Schedule Changes! The 62nd Annual Park County Fair is on it’s way August 3-8. This year the 4-H market shows have undergone major schedule changes. Don’t miss out! The 4-H Fair starts with horse show on August 3. The first major schedule change happens Thursday morning. The market hog show will be held Thursday, August 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Approximately 120 hogs will strut their stuff in the round sale pavilion. Also on Thursday is beef showmanship and the market beef show, starting at 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively, on the show grass lawn. Please note the beef breeding show has been moved to Friday, August 6, starting at 11:00 a.m. The market sheep will show Friday, August 6 at 8:00 a.m. followed by the breeding sheep and the goat show. Both the sheep and goat shows will take place on the show grass lawn. Please feel welcome to attend the Buyer’s Appreciation Dinner and the 4-H/FFA fair auction. Made-in-4-H and FFA woodworking projects, photographs, and other items as well as all the market livestock will be available for purchase. The dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. and the auction begins at 6:00 p.m. The South Central Champion of Champions Show will begin on the show lawn at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7. The champion market livestock from Park, Sweet Grass, Stillwater, and Carbon counties will be on display. Youth will compete for overall champion live beef, lamb, and hog. See the best livestock in the four county area on Saturday! Finally, the exhibits will be kept in place until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. This is a new change from 3:00 p.m. in past years. Plan on coming down Saturday afternoon to take in the sights!
