We are working to provide more but it’s clear that there won’t be home stays for all attendees. See camping below as another option. 9 of 14 Housing CAMPING Woody Hastings and June Bashers have offered there property in Sebastopol for GA attendees wanting to camp. They feel they could accommodate up to 35 people. Here is their invite: Welcome California Greens! We invite you to camp out on our property during the nights of the CA State Plenary. (Friday & Saturday nights) Friday will be a quiet evening. On Saturday night we will likely have a bon-fire, socialize and share music (bring your instruments). Our place is about 10 miles from the Cotati GA location. We have about an acre of meadow on our property close to our house. You are welcome to pitch a tent in the meadow or if you wish in the lower acre in the woods. The facilities - kitchen, bathroom, etc. - in the house will be at your full disposal. DIRECTIONS: Here are the directions, and by the way, DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS, they have it wrong and you will get lost. And most GPS systems get it wrong. MapQuest has it correct. Our place is at 7760 Dos Palos Lane, Sebastopol, CA 95472, about an hour north of San Francisco off the 101 Freeway. The phone there is 707-829-3460; Woody's cell is 310-968-2757; June's cell is 415-425-3733 If you are coming from south of Cotati/south of the Plenary site: Take the 101 freeway north to Cotati where you take the 116 WEST. (Do NOT make the mistake of taking the 116 East exit which is about 9 miles before you get to the 116 WEST exit). Go about 5 miles on the 116 West, then (just after you pass a Valero gas station on your right) turn left on Lone Pine Rd. Go 1.6 miles on Lone Pine until it ends at the cross street Bloomfield Rd. Go left on Bloomfield Rd. 10 of 14 Housing In just under a mile you will come to a stop sign for a funky intersection where Bloomfield turns to the left but you should go STRAIGHT onto Pleasant Hill Rd. Go on Pleasant Hill Road for less than a mile (.7 miles) and look for two big eucalyptus trees on the left. That is Dos Palos Lane (between French Lane and Appleseed Way - if you get to Watertrough, you've gone too far.) Go left into Dos Palos Lane and go slow because it is unpaved and there are "speed dips." At every fork in the road, go to the right, all the way to our house at the very end of the road. It's a wood-sided ranch house #7760 Dos Palos Lane. If you are coming from the east or north: From the 101 Freeway take the 12 West from Santa Rosa. Go through downtown Sebastopol, total of about 7 miles, at that point the 12 West turns into Bodega Ave. Go about one more mile on Bodega Ave to a left on Pleasant Hill. In about a mile and a half the road makes a sharp right, then immediately after that you will come to a stop sign where you turn left to stay on Pleasant Hill. Then in less than a half mile Dos Palos Lane will be on your right. It's between Appleseed Way and French Lane (if you get to Bloomfield you've gone too far). Go right into Dos Palos Lane, which is between two huge eucalyptus trees, and go slow because it is unpaved and there are "speed dips." At every fork in the road, go to the right, all the way to our house at the very end of the road. It's a wood-sided ranch house #7760 Dos Palos Lane. If you are coming from the west, you know your way around. Remember: GoogleMaps is incorrect! MapQuest has it right. You will not find us if you use GoogleMaps. 11 of 14 Housing Restaurants The GA is located about a 5 to 7 minute walk from downtown Cotati. The Cotati downtown is essentially 3 blocks long. There are more than a dozen restaurants or pub located in these three blocks along Old Redwood Highway. I’ve been to almost all of the restaurants and can attest that they are all on the small side but reasonably priced and quite good. Within an easy walk 1st block of the downtown from venue. El Paso Bakery – Mexican Bakery Sat:8-7, Sun:8-4 Giovanni’s Pizzeria – Fri: until 9pm, Sat:3-9, closed Sunday Cotati Market (small convenience store) The 8-Ball Bar. (liquor, pool, duh!) 2nd block of downtown from venue. Tama Rama’s open until 2am for coffee, etc. and ICE CREAM Redwood Café – varied fare breakfast all day, Sat:7:30am until 10, Sun:7:30 until 9 Tiny Thai – new and very small, I’ve not been in there yet. Café Salsa – Mexican Tradewinds Bar – do you like biker bars? This is your place! Spanky’s Pub – pub grub etc. Friar Tucks – pub (this is the old Inn of the Beginning). Nicolinos Restaurante - Italian Nagomi’s – Japanese food and sushi. Cotati Coffee Company, Sat:7-4, Sun:8-2 small but good 3rd block of downtown across La Plaza Park The Galley/The Cotati Yacht Club – Coffee shop (B/L/D) and bar. Boring American food but…good. Dos Amigos – Mexican. Very good. A little further north along Old Redwood Highway – you might want to drive there, there are more eating choices. China Chef – Chinese – sit down and take out. Very fresh Chinese food. Masala Jacks – Indian, really good food. Further north turn left onto Hwy 116, cross under 101 and you will find Stars Restaurant (on right side) – Coffee Shop Just a little further on the left in a small shopping center: Mei Vietnamese Cuisine – um…Vietnamese food. 12 of 14 Restaurants Lynn’s Thai – really, really nice place if you like Thai food. There are other place close by but this should provide most with choices. Some of these place have vegetarian food choices. Redwood Café is one and of course most Thai places will do veggie food as well. GROCERY STORES There really is only one market in Cotati (however, further afield are many others). Oliver’s Market in Cotati is an institution that any Green would fit in just fine at. It’s kind of a cross between a home town market and Whole Foods (er…Paycheck). It has all the regular stuff, deli, and prepared meals. http://www.oliversmarket.com/ It’s located at: 546 E Cotati Ave Cotati, 94931 To get there from the Cotati Vet’s. You go north on Old Redwood Highway until East Cotati Avenue. Turn right, an it’s all of a half mile from that point on the right hand side. BANKS - ATMs Exchange Bank ATM - 8220 Old Redwood Highway, Cotati (in the main downtown area). Apparently, many of the pubs and convince stores in the downtown area have ATMs in them as well. Spanky’s, the Eight Ball, the Cotati Market, Friar Tucks, to name a few. 13 of 14 Restaurants Committee Meeting Agendas Platform Committee Introductions Agenda Approval Announcements Approval of Minutes of Prior Meeting Comments on Planks considered by the General Assembly Water—Martin Zehr Criminal Justice—Shane Que Hee California Budget/Elections....Shane Que Hee Election of Platform Committee Members Susan Sayre Bob Vizzard Planks for Next Plenary Planks Not passed by GA Human Rights/Civil Liberties (Last Conservation of Health Affected Plank) Other Business End 14 of 14 Committee Meeting Agendas
