This art exhibition, comprised of more than 200 pieces of
sensational movie memorabilia from the 1930s through the
1980s and chosen from three unique collections, illustrates
what curators Jacques Boyreau and Greg Pierce call
“SuperTrash.” “It is essentially about the powers of
contradiction, and how, in the art/trash dialogue
the struggle to bond affects the urge to divide.
We live in a 21st century paradise of anxiety,
fractured if not poisonous fairy tales, and only a
semi-convincing pursuit of happiness. SuperTrash
is a vision for our time - a terrifying time of extraevolutionary crisis and adaptation, devoid of
certainties, replete with compromise.” The graphic
genius of artists such as Drew Struzan, Olivia De
Berardinis, Robert Tannenbaum, John Alvin, Rene
Ferraci, Jack Kamen, Albert Kallis, Neal Adams,
John Solie, Reynold Brown, and Renato Casaro
is showcased along with the work of many great
unknown illustrators.
This exhibition would not have been possible
without the generosity of collectors Scott Moffett,
Roger Paulson and Tim Rotramel who
allowed the curators access to their
amazing archives.
