For those who are
Homebound
Saint Gabriel Parish has Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion who will
bring Holy Communion to our
parishioners who are homebound due to illness, or
injury on a temporary or long-term basis. To make
arrangements, a family member or family friend can
simple contact the Parish Rectory Office at 860-6884905.
The Sunday Gospels for the remainder of this
liturgical year will take place while Jesus is on
his “journey to Jerusalem” that begins in today’s
Gospel. He has a clear idea of who he is and
where he is going. As we gather here today, perhaps our
prayer can be for the grace to follow Jesus on the way,
doing what he asks us to do.

THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Saint Gabriel & Saint Joseph Parishes
Welcome Father Andy Mai
On Tuesday of this week, we
welcome Father Tuan Anh Dinh Mai as
parochial vicar of our linked parishes. Father
Mai comes to us on the appointment of Archbishop
Leonard Blair. Father was ordained in May 2014, and has
been serving as the parochial vicar at Saint Bridget and
Saint Bartholomew Parishes in Manchester, and as the
priest chaplain at East Catholic High School. He comes to
us with the valuable experience of prior ministry in linked
parishes, as well as working with Saint Bridget parochial
school. I look forward to Father Andy’s joining our
pastoral staff and to his priestly assistance. I am confident
that his ministry will be beneficial to our parishes. Please
welcome him warmly!
Father Robert Vargo
Saint Gabriel Memorial Fund
It is customary and fitting to remember loved
ones who have died with memorial donations to
a favorite cause or charity. In this way, the
memory of the deceased is honored and a good work, either
civic or religious, is perpetuated. There are numerous
charities that have been traditionally designated for such
purpose.
We are grateful to the following who have donated to the
Saint Gabriel Memorial Fund in loving memory of:
Karen A. Haight
Marge and John Conforto
The Robert Quinn Family
Anthony “Joe” Cymerys

their 3 choices now! Serving the Windsor

them for their support, service and kindness!
JUNE 26, 2016
Holy Hour – July 1st
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice.
Mend your ways, encourage one another,
agree with one another, live in peace, and
the God of love and peace will be with
you.” (2 Cor. 13: 11).
All people of the world are in need of God’s
peace. On July 1st, there will be exposition and benediction
of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Joseph Church from 7:00
p.m. until 8:00 p.m. During this time, prayers will be offered
for peace in this country and the world and for the insight
into how each of us can be an “instrument” of God’s peace
in our own “little corner of the world.”
Wednesday Morning Mass
With the arrival of Father Mai this
week, we will once again offer weekday Mass
at 7:30am on Wednesdays. I know that morning Mass
attendees and I are most grateful to Deacon Carl and
Deacon Ron for offering communion services on
Wednesday mornings during the interim since Father
Ruminski’s transfer. Wednesday morning Mass will
begin July 6th.
Those wishing to schedule an intention for these
newly available Masses are invited to do so. Members of
the parish staffs will be accepting intentions for
Wednesday Masses only eight (8) weeks into the future.
All other Masses (weekday and Sunday) may be requested
through the end of 2017.
Father Robert Vargo
