Mission Statement
Under the patronage of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, we
are a growing faith community centered in the Eucharist and
dedicated to worshiping God, our Father.
In response to our baptismal call, we commit ourselves to
promote the gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ, through Christian
hospitality, spiritual nurturing, evangelical outreach, and shared
social experience.
We call upon each parishioner to share his or her talents in
addressing the needs of our parish and society at large. We
implore the Holy Spirit to consecrate each of us in this mission.

YOUTH MINISTRY

We are called to respect and protect our lives and the
lives of others, and we are called to be the hands and feet
of Christ to all, especially the most vulnerable. We have
been given one life to live, which has inestimable value—
how will we choose to live it?
Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, help us share in the work of redemption.

Collection Counters
Needed
MMR is in need of additional
parishioners who are able to help
with collection processing. Four or
five teams consisting of a team
leader and three or four helpers
will handle duties once a month on
Sunday mornings with specific
times flexible to the team’s needs.
The team will sort and count
currency and checks, separate
and empty envelopes, run tapes
on checks and envelopes, post
and balance to a summary and
complete the deposit. If you have
manual dexterity and are comfortable handling cash and
checks, your help is needed once
a month. If interested, or for info,
please e-mail Lou Tonelli:
[email protected] or
call 215-362-7400.
MMR Generosity
Makes Van Purchase Possible
The clergy and laity of our sister parish St. Helena in Philadelphia have
been dreaming of the day they would be able to purchase a van to
transport parishioners to and from Sunday Mass. Proceeds from our
2015 Golf Outing, Knights of Columbus 50/50 Drawing and our Poor
Box donations were sent to them to assist in the purchase of the beautiful new van seen in the photograph below. Monsignor Joseph Trinh, the
pastor, and his people are most grateful for our ongoing generosity.

Remembering and Living Pope Francis’ Words
In his homily at Mass on the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia on September 28,
2015, Pope Francis stated: “Faith opens a window to the presence and working of the
Spirit. It shows us that, like happiness, holiness is always tied to little gestures. These little gestures are those we learn at home, in the family; they get lost amid all the other
things we do, yet they do make each day different. They are the quiet things done by
mothers and grandmothers, by fathers and grandfathers, by children. They are little
signs of tenderness, affection and compassion. Like the warm supper we look forward to at night. Homely gestures. Like a blessing before we go to bed, or a hug after we return from a hard day’s work. Love is shown by
little things, by attention to small daily signs which make us feel at home. Faith grows when it is lived and
shaped by love. That is why our families, our homes, are true domestic churches. They are the right place for
faith to become life, and life to become faith.”

Third Grade Angels
The third grade is quite angelic!
This summer these students read a
book titled “Third Grade Angels”.
As part of the follow-up activities
associated with this book, the students spent a week spying on one
another, with the intention of catching each other being angelic in one
way or another. The students in
Mrs. Czekaj’s room all earned their
own halo. What an angelic group!

The generosity of MMR parishioners and visitors through regular donations to the poor boxes located
in our church has been edifying.
Because of your goodness, we
have been able to help several
individuals in need as well as charitable organizations which serve the
poor (including Father Chuck’s
Challenge, St. Mary’s Franciscan
Shelter, Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial
Fund, and St. John’s Hospice). The
Catechism of the Catholic Church
states: “Giving alms to the poor is a
work of justice pleasing to God.”
Please continue your selfless giving
to the poor. God bless you for it!
