June 15, 2016 Greetings!
Whew! Our 21st Annual Awards Dinner was last night and we are still reeling in the aftermath glow.
It was truly a spectacular event and many were recognized and honored to be nominated by their
peers. Although our theme was being the #1 beach in the USA, the evening was all about those who
have played a significant part in that truism.
The Business Awards winners were announced to the surprised audience of a packed Ballroom at the
Hilton Clearwater Beach. Please see the list below of all those who so deservingly received their
Awards.
The Clearwater Beach Taste Fest and Clearwater Beach Restaurant Week took the floor as well to
announce the winners during one of the most popular events for our community. Whoops and hollers
could be heard from those who discovered they won for "Best Of..." and the room was filled with
excitement.
There were several emotional moments during the evening and one was when Michael Preston
"Frenchy" was recognized with the Chairman's "Beach Chamber Heroes" Award by Frank Dame.
Frenchy's success with his businesses and the impact they have in our community are
insurmountable. He is a true leader and one of the many reasons why visitors and locals alike come to
our destination. People from all over the world know the name "Frenchy", so it is no surprise that he
is our hero. However, his commitment and support of our Beach Chamber has topped the list of
outstanding accolades, and it was an honor to be able to publicly thank him for all he has done to
create a new Beach Chamber Office and Visitor Center for us. We will proudly continue to help those
who are visiting our fine City and the businesses that make us #1. Thank you Frenchy.

New Turtle Exhibit!
After many months of careful planning and construction,
Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) has debuted a new
home for its resident sea turtles. The renovated pool,
renamed Mavis's Rescue Hideaway, opened for public on
Friday, June 10!
