OUTREACH PROGRAM
Now that Spring has sprung, we will be switching our
call for hot chocolate to iced tea. Or is that being a little
too optimistic? Maybe we should wait until after
Memorial Day when, in spite of the calendar, it begins
to feel like summer. Actually, if this summer is
anything like last year, it will be July before we need
ice.
Okay, Terry, enough rambling. Now. Tell it like it is.
We are in very good shape in both the food and clothing
departments thanks to you. It is such a nice feeling to
be able to dispense healthy (and sometimes not-sohealthy) food without panicking that the shelves are
getting too bare. I know I have told you this before but
it bears repeating. We had 14 new families come to us
for assistance in the month of April. Most food pantries
would have a problem giving them adequate food; we
are very much the exception in this area. We were able
to help them without making other families sacrifice.

feast during our 85th Anniversary of our Parish.
This meeting is for all group leaders and anyone
interested in volunteering their time and talents. There is plenty to do and the more helping
hands we have, the greater the success of our
Annual Feast dedicated to our Patroness, Our
Lady of the Assumption. So come down and see
where you can give some help. We look forward to your joining your fellow parishioners at

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2014-2015 school year will begin
on Tuesday, August 12th and extend through Tuesday,
September 23rd. It will be held at the Religious Ed
offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The tuition fee for the school year 2014-2015 will be
the same as last year. However, we are going to add a
fee for preparation for First Holy Communion of $50
(in addition to Confirmation) which includes the costs
of the prep. materials, photography, retreat,
confirmation gown etc. These payments must be
made at the same time as the tuition fee.

ZAPISY NA RELIGIĘ NA R. SZK. 2014-15
Zapisy rozpoczną się we wtorek 12 sierpnia i trwać będą
do wtorku 23 września. Zapisy prowadzone będą w biurze
Centrum Edukacji Religijnej we wtorki, środy i czwartki
w następujących godzinach:
wtorek: 14:00-19:00,
środa: 14:00-17:00,
czwartek: 14:00-17:00.
Opłaty za naukę religii będą takie same jak w roku
ubiegłym z tą różnicą, że wprowadzone będą zmiany w
opłatach związanych z przygotowaniem do 1szej komunii
św. i bierzmowania.
Opłatę związaną z przygotowaniem do sakramentów
Pierwszej Komunii Świętej i Bierzmowania należy uiścić
wraz z opłatą za cały rok nauki.
Wysokość opłat:
- za 1 dziecko: $ 120
- za dwoje lub wiecej dzieci: $ 150
- Pierwsza Komunia Święta: $50 (tj. opłata za
fotografa i materiały przygotowawcze)
- Bierzmowanie: $85 (opłata za materiały,
rekolekcje, strój na uroczystość)
UWAGA: Rodzice uczniów rozpoczynających naukę w
klasach VII, VIII oraz Prep 6 muszą w trakcie dokonywania zapisow spotkać się z dyrektorem Programu Edukacji Religijnej, aby otrzymać listę wymagań dotyczących Sakramentu Bierzmowania i potrzebne informacje.
RELIGIA DLA UCZNIÓW SZKÓŁ ŚREDNICH
W roku szkolnym 2014-15 oferujemy bezpłatną klasę
religii dla młodzieży szkół średnich. Zajęcia w jęz. ang.
będą odbywały się we wtorki w godz. od 19:00-20:00 i
prowadzone będą przez Ks. Janusza.
FESTYN PARAFIALNY
SPOTKANIE LIDERÓW I WOLONTARIUSZY
W środę 11 czerwca, o godz. 20:00 w sali pod kościołem
odbędzie się spotkanie związane z Parafialnym Festynem,
w tym roku połączonym z obchodami 85-lecia istnienia
naszej parafii. Spotkanie przeznaczone jest dla liderów
wszystkich grup oraz dla tych, którzy chcieliby uczestniczyć
w festynie jako wolontariusze. Pracy i przygotowań jest
bardzo wiele. Im więcej rąk do pomocy, tym większy sukces
Festynu. Zachęcamy naszych parafian do wzięcia udziału w
spotkaniu.

The Fifth Sunday of Easter
As we continue to travel through the Easter Season, we
hear more stories of life in the early Church. In today’s first
reading we hear that, as the number of disciples continued to
grow, there were complaints that some were being neglected.
The Apostles needed help! Their solution to this problem was
to “select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the
Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task” of
service. The apostles “laid hands on them” and we have the
first Ordination of Deacons.
We, two thousand years later, are beneficiaries of this
decision in the presence of our Deacons Phil and Mike. Today
would be a good day to thank them for their service to our
community, an unofficial “Deacon’s Day”.
In Peter’s letter, the second reading, he begs us to come
to Christ as to a “living stone”, and allow ourselves to be built
into a “holy priesthood” through Jesus Christ. Each time the
priest prays that “my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to
God” we are reminded of our being a “royal priesthood, a holy
nation”.
And finally, in our Gospel reading from John, Jesus tells us
“let not your hearts be troubled”. He, Jesus, tells us that he is
going to prepare a place for us. Let us celebrate this promise
and increase our faith by singing # 692, How Lovely is Your
Dwelling Place.
O How lovely is your dwelling place,
dwelling of the Lord of Hosts.
How we long for your house, O Lord,
singing out a song of joy to the living God.
