Artista de aguarela. Tom nasceu em 1932 em Fort William, na Escócia, e
aposentou-se depois de uma carreira como engenheiro mecânico itinerante. Começou a pintar as suas aguarelas como parte do processo de recuperação depois de ter sofrido um acidente vascular cerebral grave. As suas
pinturas refletem o gosto pela luz, cenas coloridas, detalhe e exibem uma
boa perspetiva. Tom possui mais de 50 pinturas com cenas de Portugal e
das Ilhas Britânicas, sendo esta a terceira exposição de pinturas de Tom em
Portugal.
Watercolour artist. Tom was born in Fort William, Scotland, in 1932, and retired after having worked as an itinerant mechanical engineer. He began
painting his watercolours as part of a recovery process after having suffered a serious stroke. His paintings reflect his penchant for light, colourful settings, and details, and display a good perspective. Tom has over 50
paintings depicting Portugal and the British Isles. This is his third painting
exhibition in Portugal.

atrai crentes e turistas à cidade. Para
além de um extenso programa religioso, o ponto alto da festa é o desfile
pela cidade e a subida final ao santuário onde milhares de pessoas acompanham a procissão.
The biggest religious festivity in Southern Portugal happens in Loulé. It is
a great manifestation of faith which
attracts many believers and tourists
to town every year. Besides a comprehensive religious programme, the
highlight of the festivity is the procession through town and the final climb
to the sanctuary, watched by thousands of people.

“Som Riscado”
Riscar o som? Arriscar pelo som? O «Som Riscado» é um novo festival que
pretende fomentar cruzamentos e diálogos criativos entre a nova música
portuguesa de cariz experimental (minimal, psicadélica, electrónica) e o(s)
universo(s) da imagem e das artes visuais (desenho, pintura, fotografia, cinema, graffiti, arte digital/imagem animada, design), juntando, nos formatos apresentados, artistas plásticos/visuais e outros criativos do concelho
de Loulé e da região (entre emergentes e reconhecidos) com projetos musicais já firmados no panorama nacional.
“Som Riscado” is a new festival that aims to promote creative intercrossing
and dialogue between the new Portuguese experimental music (minimal,
psychedelic, electronic) and the universe(s) of image and visual arts (drawing, painting, photography, cinema, graffiti, digital art/animation, design),
gathering local plastic /visual artists and other creatives from Loulé and the
region (emerging and renowned ) with nationally acclaimed music projects.
