Paper Skull Garlands
once around an arts & crafts store Craft of the Week October 28, 2013 Paper Skull Garlands Materials Crepe paper in various colors Sharp pointed scissors Masking tape String Glue Stick or tape template from Happythought (see link below) How to 1. Cut crepe paper into 8"x5" rectangles. 2. Fold printed template down the middle (along the dotted line) with skull on the outside. 3. Fold 3 sheets of crepe paper in half and assemble a "book" with the template sheet as the cover. 4. Secure the top and bottom of the book with a little masking tape so that the crepe paper doesn't slip when cutting out the shapes. 5. Carefully cut out all of the shapes on the inside of the skull template, lightly folding again as necessary to access the interior shapes. Then cut around the outside edge of the skull template. 6. When done cutting, open up your "book" and remove the template cover. Carefully open and separate the skulls and then gently flatten them out. 7. Repeat these steps with another 2 or 3 sets of crepe paper using a new template for each "book". 8. Lay the skulls out next to each other on a flat surface. Cut a piece of string long enough to attach all of the skulls. Be sure to leave several extra inches on either side so that you can hang your garland. Fold the top tab on each skull over the string and secure with a glue stick or small pice of tape.
