TP.HCM, ngày 20 tháng 05 năm 2016 Sinh viên ký tên Trần Đỗ Anh Thu VALLET SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY I am Tran Do Anh Thu, an international business student from Economics and Law University. I am definitely sure that you know why I am writing this letter. Simply, I want to become something different in your eyes among thousands of applicant. Difference makes you see me as a prominent one. Me, one VNU student in Vietnam, have a normal academic program in 4 years, so how I can be special among a wide range of fresh students? Let me demonstrate you some crucial, essential points in my life! Hope you say “Wow” on reading my profile. I really believe that you will be deeply impressed and excited. To be honest, I always call it “my nice brochure” because of including my outstanding academic records, my family condition, my overcoming period, my career path in the future. Actually, I come from a traditionally agricultural family in the center of Vietnam; family economic condition is entirely dependent on the climate. As the result of this, it is very risky, especially along with a great number of storrm each year we suffered. We have to face the crop failure and more than that is the grief of loosing filled until the cows come home. The climate change not only results in unpredictable, unforeseeable consequences but also we are getting more and more difficult. A good point in this case is that Formosa and Fish scandal brings us to be in deep water in daily life and earnings. Unfortunately, at the 9th grade, I diagnosed with the spinal disease so I left school for a semester to treat it. My life has been up against difficulties at all hours. I had a continual pain in the back. Everyday I had to bring a special armor to keep my spine straight, to prevent from negative effect on heart and viscera. However, the more difficult it is, the more I better pulled my socks up to catch up with the rest of class. At any rates, I did all I could to turn over the new leaf because I always believed “Practice makes perfect”. At the time of being a Math gifted class and English gifted team, I kept burning a candle at both ends to maintain in Top 10. I got the highest scores of school at the trial final tests and the only one got the prize of examination for 12th valued student in English. Since then I came out of my shell and kept trying to hunker down. This was an episode in my life. As a UEL student, I then spent much time to think of my school life, the best way to become a dynamic and well- rounded student at school. I did not want to live in a grey existence. I did not want to be sitting pretty. I love challenge. I did million and one for a change. At 4 school years, my score at school is always in Top 5. I also received Annual allowances. These scholarships helped me from dropping out up and coming. Moreover, I joined in many contests in and out of UEL. Amazingly, I got the champion of “Knowledge In Your Hand 2013 Contest” celebrated by K12402B and the next champion was the Young Policy Planner Contest 2014. Our team won this game with the convincing bottom line. Obviously, all these things motivated me and also brought to me some good friends, opened my networks. Participating in Skill Club and International Business Club is the smart choice along with my studying. I devoted effort to do the best events. This time also helps me appreciate beautiful things in life and make a change - over in my own thinking as well as way of life. I can improve my necessary soft skills from the online and offline media to event. Working in the marketing feel is not a momentary passion. It was my biggest interest since I worked at IBC. Futhermore, I love event because it taught me how to do anything elaborately from top to bottom even the smallest things. All the things I do now is preparing all deep knowledge and skills in this field to be young marketer or event leader in a startup company. I believe that my choice of marketing startup is right and it will help me to create my own successful career. Startup is not only a company but also a little house to nurture my passion and my personality. “Being an little owner of a Luv-Ja (Love Japan) Milk tea shop” is another dream of mine. So you can ask me why you chose this, why your dream shop named Luv-Ja. My answer is very simple “I don’t know! That’s my love for Japan”. It makes me be walking on air whenever thinking about. I love language, love Japanese so much. I am eager in the pursuit of making Luv-Ja be a place for anyone to communicate in any language, especially Japanese; share together foreign language studying techniques and also enjoy Japan feelings here by Japnese foods and beverages. I also decorate a corner for celebrating events or talk show for people loving Japan Culture and Japanese. It’s simply a dream from the bottom of my heart. But life is not easy like a piece of cake but so much challenges. To reach that goal, I have to make a careful plan from scracth: financial planning, fulfillment of knowledge and skills. “If you want to get more, become more” said Nguyen Huu Tri lecturer in AYP. I am going to help the support of Mr.Ta Minh Tuan, a 30U30 person, to coach me in this dream. That’s all about my little dream. Are you interested in it? Tell me whether you like or not! Thanks so much.
