“New Beginnings”
Advent begins a new liturgical year, and the new
words that we use today in our liturgy are sure to keep us
focused. I assure you, the one who will be most challenged is standing at the altar and writing this article.
I shall try my best to prepare myself by reading and
practicing the prayers for each Sunday. There are texts that are
challenging, with rather convoluted English or very lengthy
sentences. Be assured that we will all make mistakes in the
weeks ahead, but God will still be glorified and God’s grace
will still surround us.
This Sunday we begin Cycle B of the Lectionary, so we will
be haring mostly from the Gospel of Mark this year. Several
weeks ago we began a Bible Study on Thursday mornings, and
together we decided to begin with the Gospel of Mark. Feel
free to join us on any Thursday that is convenient for you …we
do not take attendance, and there are no exams or home work.
And, this study group is not for biblical scholars … not familiar
with the Bible? Not sure about understanding what you’re reading? This group is for you!
GIVING TREE
Once again, we'd like to make sure our St. Therese Family
residents in nursing homes and shut-ins, families in need here
and in the Dominican Republic, have a gift to brighten their
Christmas celebration. This weekend November 26 and 27,
OUR GIVING TREE will be ready for you to take tags.
Please stop and take a tag from the tree and remember to bring
YOUR GIFT and TAG back as soon as possible or no later than
December 13. Gifts of money and gas cards should be dropped
in collection baskets.

A PAIR OF HANDS WILL BE OF USE
There is a wide choice of things that you can do for God and
neighbor, in and through your church community--if you have
the good will. With good will you also find the necessary time
for such projects, even though you may have to cut and pare in
other directions.
El Adviento da comienzo a un nuevo año litúrgico,
y en la Misa en inglés comenzamos a utilizar la Nueva
traducción. Les aseguro que el reto más grande lo va
a tener quien está en el altar y escribiendo este artículo.
Voy a hacer lo que puedo para prepararme, leyendo
y practicando las oraciones de cada domingo. Hay textos
que son difíciles, con una estructura de frases más poético y
largos. Estén seguros que todos vamos a hacer algunos
errores en las semanas que entran, pero Dios va a seguir
siendo alabado y glorificado, y la gracia de Él no nos va a
faltar.
Este domingo comenzamos con el Cíclo B del leccionario, así que vamos a escuchar del evangelio de San Marco
este año. Hace algunas semanas comenzamos un estudio
bíblico en inglés los jueves por la mañana, y decidimos
comenzar con Marcos. Estas invitado a venir cuando
puedes …no pasamos lista de asistencia y no hay exámenes.
Y, este grupo de estudio no es para expertos en Sagradas
Escrituras. Si tienes mucha familiaridad con la Biblia
….este grupo es para ti.
ARBOL DE OFRECIMIENTOS
Una vez más, deseamos asegurarnos que nuestras familias
de Santa Teresita que se encuentran en asilos de ancianos,
así como algunas familias de República Dominicana tengan
un hermoso regalo esta Navidad. Ésta semana, el 26 y 27 de
Noviembre, tendremos un árbol de regalos y estará listo
para que recoja sus tarjetas. Por favor, véalo, tome una tarjeta del árbol y recuerde traer su regalo y tarjeta antes del 13
de Diciembre. Dinero y tarjetas de gasolina puede
colocarlos en las canastas de la limosna.

UN PAR DE MANOS SERÁN MUY ÚTILES
Hay una amplia gama de cosas que puedes hacer por Dios
y por tu prójimo, en y a través de tu comunidad parroquial,
si tienes la buena voluntad de hacerlo. También con buena
voluntad encontrarás el tiempo necesario para tales
proyectos aunque tal vez tengas que cortar y reducir en
otras direcciones.

ESTUDIO DE BIBLIA impartido por el Padre

St. Patrick’s Christmas Sweet and Tree Sale
St. Patrick's Parish, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha
Dec. 2nd, December 3rd and Dec. 4th.
Special events include our Cookie and Candy Walk.
Cookie/Candy Walk Hours are Friday 4:00-7:00pm,
Saturday 10-2:00 pm and Sunday 9:30-12:30 pm.
On Fryday, along with our Cookie/Candy Walk, we will
feature a Fish Fry. We will feature Christmas specials of Mahi Mahi,
Tomato Basil Soup and Sweet Potato Fries along with our regular menu
featuring Fish, Grilled Shrimp and Salmon. On Sunday we welcome St.
Nick at our Christmas Breakfast (served family style). Menu includes
Pancakes, Porkies, Eggs, Coffee Cake, and more. Our Christmas Tree
