Getting to Gibson Mill
The woodland at Hardcastle Crags and the setting of
Gibson Mill in the heart of the valley are often described by
our visitors as magical. Whatever time of year you choose
for your wedding, our peaceful and relaxed atmosphere will
make your day very special.
Opportunities for beautiful photographs are all around you.
Reflections in the mill pond, a walk across the bridge or
perhaps the stepping stones and a backdrop of fresh spring
leaves or golden autumn tones make beautiful visual
memories.
Hardcastle Crags has car parking for your guests, and your
day of celebration starts when the wedding party gather
to walk along the enchanting track to Gibson Mill. This is a
special part of the day and an opportunity for plenty of
photographs. The walk is approximately one mile and
takes 30-40 minutes.
As part of the hire fee you can take up to three cars
down to the mill.

Some Frequently Asked Questions….
•What happens if it rains?
Don’t worry! Remember that the weather cannot spoil your day. In
our experience it can give a chance for some fantastic photographs
full of laughter and colour! Your day is all about the feeling you are
creating – the warmth of people joining together and a lot of small
things making something amazing that really stays with you
•What are the timings?
The Dancing Hall is available between 12 noon and 5pm. The
Registrar can arrange a ceremony time with you between 12 noon
and 3pm
•Access arrangements?
Vehicle access to Gibson Mill is strictly limited, and only by prior
agreement with us, to protect our precious woodland. We have
limited parking space which needs to be pre-booked for anyone
with difficulty walking. Arrangements for getting your decorations,
flowers and personal items to the Mill will be made on an individual
basis
•Can we have music?
Yes - the Dancing Hall has great acoustics, and music can create a
lovely atmosphere. Please chat through your requirements with us
•Where do our guests park?
We have car parks available at Midgehole Road, and at Clough Hole
on Widdop Road. We cannot guarantee car parking spaces but can
reserve a small area of car park for a separate fee. We can provide
you with maps and information to help your guests and will advise
you on the best options.

On foot
access on foot via riverside walk from Hebden Bridge. Pennine Way and
