Over 40 large bags of clothing was donated by our parishioners!!! Early next month the Nova Scotia Health Authority, in conjunction with Heal Cape Breton, will hold the “Under One Umbrella” event at Centre 200 in aid of those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. At this event, a wide range of services will be available to those in need including counselling, hair care, foot care, basic dental checkup, etc. as well as having available the warm winter wear collections carried out by our parish and others. Diane Gillis, “Under One Umbrella” co-chair, sent along this note: To Holy Redeemer Parish: On behalf of the Under One Umbrella committee, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated winter wear, socks, footwear, etc. to our Under One Umbrella event thus far. Your generosity has been overwhelming. We couldn’t pull off an event such as this without your help. Once again, thank you so much for all your support for this worthwhile cause. All memorials will be printed in our bulletin and all money collected is used exclusively for the upkeep and maintenance of our parish cemeteries, Old Calvary and New Calvary.
