How to Use …. DfE’s Performance Tables Note: this site is extremely useful for accessing latest validated attainment data for all schools. Access the performance Tables through the Performance Hub link on Central Bedfordshire Council’s Schools Portal (www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/schools-portal) or on your browser, type in the following web address: www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance The Performance Tables provides access to latest Key Stage results, school workforce data, finance and Ofsted reports. This is the Home page: To access a range of assessment and other data for any school in Central Bedfordshire, follow the steps below. In the example below, the focus is KS2 results 1. In the By Region box, select East of England from the Region pull-down list and then select Central Bedfordshire from the Local Authority drop down list and click GO. DfE’s Performance Tables Note: You are able to refine your search by selecting the appropriate phase under the Quick Links heading on the right of the screen. 2. The next screen opens a map of the area with the locations of each school marked and lists the schools in Central Bedfordshire below. You may find it easier to close the map by click on the Hide Map option at this point: 3. To access the assessment data, click on the number of schools link under the Primary section: 4. You should now see a range of tabs across the screen relating to different areas of information. Each one can be accessed in the same way as this example for KS2. The first tab relates to KS2 2012 Results and are the Topline figures showing the % of pupils achieving Level 4 in English & Maths (E & M) for each school (where relevant) from 2009 to date listed in the table The list will include England and Local Authority figures (note: LA figures will only include maintained and Academy state funded schools only) Page 2 of 5 Learning Performance Team January 2013 How to Use …. DfE’s Performance Tables 5. Click on Pupil Progress to view the % of pupils making expected progress in English & Maths for the latest year. You can view Pupil Progress results by selecting the Non-mobile pupils option or the Cohort Information Non-mobile pupils provides a comparison between all pupils and matched pupils and the % attaining level 4 in E & M ; % level 5 in E & M ; and the % making expected progress in E & M Cohort information provides the number and % of boys and girls eligible for the KS2 tests Within the Pupil Progress measures, you should see the Value Added options for English and Maths These measures display the confidence limits for schools only. 6. Click on KS2 Test results to view the % of pupils achieving both E & M at level 3 and below, level 4 and above and level 5 and above. Page 3 of 5 Learning Performance Team January 2013 How to Use …. Click on Narrowing the Gap option to display % of disadvantaged pupils achieving level 4 and above in E & M for compared with non-disadvantaged pupils This option gives further comparisons between disadvantaged and non disadvantaged pupils in the % of pupils achieving level 5 and above in E & M; % of pupils making expected progress; and value added measures. 8. Click on Teacher Assessment to display % of pupils achieving level 3 or below, level 4 and above or level 5 and above in English Further results showing % of pupils achieving level 3 or below, level 4 and above or level 5 and above can be obtained to view maths, science, reading and writing separately. 9. Click on Low, middle, high attainers to view % pupils at level 3 and below, level 4 and above and level 5 and above; and % of pupils making expected progress and value added measures by low, middle and high attaining pupil groups Page 4 of 5 Learning Performance Team January 2013 How to Use …. Click on English as An Additional Language and Gender to view % of pupils at level 4 and above and level 5 and above and the % of pupils making the expected progress in E & M Other statistical areas available from the other tab headings: Absences - % of absences overall and the % of pupils with 15% or more absences (persistent absentees) Finance areas by school: Summary – total income and expenditure for academic year Funding & Income Education Staff Spend Learning resources and Curriculum Spend Other Spend Comparisons over time School Workforce: Headcount, pupil:teacher ratios and average gross salary of teachers by school School Characteristics : pupil population, type and address Ofsted – inspection date, outcome and latest published report Page 5 of 5 Learning Performance Team January 2013
