A position has become available for the
position of:
Business and Financial Manager
The founders are seeking to recruit a
suitably qualified and experienced
person capable of handling the
ongoing financial and business
management of a stable, mature and
multifaceted project. To ensure
congruence with the senior
leadership team of the organisation,
the applicant should be committed,
practising Christian.
HeronBridge College is located in the heart of prime development 10km
north of Fourways, where the two Jukskei Rivers meet. This unique, coeducational College enjoys architecturally designed buildings, rolling
lawns, gardens, leafy trees and fields flanked by a beautiful river.
When the school was founded in 2001, doors were opened to a class of
busy pre-primary children. It presently extends through a complete
preparatory school and into a vibrant college. Here, young people prepare
for their role in the twenty-first century and the responsibilities it will
place before them.

Oversee the financial management
of the organisation together with
key leaders and committees.
Coordinate the regular duties of
staff including: performance
management, team dynamic,
personal development, goal setting
and day-to-day task
accomplishment.
Provide regular management
reporting to the Managing Director
and the Board of Directors.

Key Accountabilities:


















Coordinate the annual financial planning process under the direction of the Managing director.
Form part of the Senior Leadership team responsible for management of the College.
Coordinate and prepare both Opex and Capex budgets for presentation to all stakeholders.
Oversee the annual financial audit.
Interact with key personnel and committees responsible for the aspects of managing the project eg.
College Senior leadership committee, Retreat and Properties management, Estate Management.
Ensure adherence to principles contained in the HeronBridge Vision statement.
Support and implement projects as directed by the managing director including regular
verbal and written progress updates.
Manage expenditure on a day-to-day basis and oversee financial matters of the project.
Review the monthly accounting reports and prepare monthly financial reports.
Conduct / and or oversee service provider negotiations and manage related contracts in collaboration
with the operations manager.
Plan and manage risk processes, including the insurance policy and claims.
Execute the necessary Human Resources processes, including appointment of staff,
salary proposals, legislative reporting, performance management, etc.
Supervise billing of fees and collection of debts.
Manage and motivate accounting office staff on a day-to-day basis.
Coordinate all statutory and regulatory reporting for the various authorities, including
SARS and the Department of Labour.
Ensure and safeguard the property of the organisation including fixed assets, title deeds, equipment and
IT property.
Ensure the control environment is sound particularly over the cash receipts and income recording,
expenditure and payroll.
Ensure that adequate segregation of duties exists and that the appropriate reviews are undertaken of
accounting records.

Experience in general business management, implementing and maintaining effective systems, processes
and controls.
Financial management.
Ability to plan for and prioritise multiple deliverables.
Good working knowledge of Pastel, VIP and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong interpersonal skills, confidently engaging with and leading subordinates, peers and senior
leadership as required.
