In the middle of February 2006 the single "Aliado del Tiempo", was
released in the United Sates and it took the Regional Mexican
Music world by storm. This marked Mariano Barba's red carpeted
entrance to the American market; he soon became the Most
Placed New Artist according to Billboard Magazine and charts
reported by Monitor Latino.
This is not new for Mariano, who after the release of this first album, "Me
gusta la Banda" surprised everyone with the so-awaited launch of this
second album, entitled "De parranda con Mariano", which exceeded all
market expectative.
This production includes a song written by Mariano himself, called "Cosas
del Amor" and the first hit from this CD was "El Mono de Alambre" a very
up-beat danceable song which served as his first appearance in the
Radio waves in México.
"De parranda con Mariano" is an album compiling some nice old
'covers', such as: "La parranda"," El pipiripau" and "El Cafetal". This
record was his debut as Producer as well as his second under the
wing and full support of his Record Label Company THREE
SOUND RECORDS. From this material 2 videos were filmed, "La
Higuera" (Duet with Rigo Oliveros) and "El Mono de Alambre".
His third album "Una noche más contigo" broke his own
sales records and received Golden Disc for the high volume of
sales; he enriched this production with some songs of his
collection as well as producing his single "Una noche mas
contigo", which soon became the Best Song of the Year,
resulting in Mariano Barba receiving the satisfactory award of
Artist Revelation of 2005 in Mexico.
