November Tiger Chat 2015
Commerce Tiger Football The Tigers made it to the first round of the playoffs and finished third in their district after beating the Chelsea Green Dragons 49-45. We had to travel to Haskell, OK to play the Haskell Haymakers, who finished second in their district. We knew it would be a tough game because they had a lot of size and speed. They had an advantage because they were playing on their home field. We did not play our best game by any means and it definitely showed. The final score of the game was 54-14. The Tigers finished their season with a 6-5 record. To pass To pass The World Series 2015 The World Series involved the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets. The Mets second baseman, Daniel Murphy, had a promising postseason. He broke a record for the most games in a row with a homerun. He hit a homerun 6 games in a row. The pitcher for the first game was Edison Volquez. He had a good day on the mound but behind the scenes his father had passed away. His family didn't tell him about his father’s passing because they knew he had a game to play and they didn't want to make him upset. When the manager pulled Volquez from the game he went into the clubhouse with his family and that’s when his family told him. Volquez and the Kansas City Royals stopped him from hitting all those “dingers”. The Royals took the first two games of the series. The Mets took the next game but the Royals came back and took the next two games. They were then announced as World Series champions. It was a good series for The Royals. We learned how to become better leaders through our incredible adult role models . The dance this year had a “spy” theme. Everyone was dressed in black!
