Today’s Readings: June 16 - 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time: 2 Samuel 12:7-10,13; 2nd Reading: Galatians 2:16,19-21; Gospel: Luke 7:36;8:3. Next Week’s Readings: June 23 - 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time: 1st Reading: Zechariah 12:10-11;13:1; 2nd Reading: Galatians 3:26-29; Gospel: Luke 9:18-24. JUSTICE CORNER FOR JUNE 16 Jesus Take the Wheel: St. Paul tells the Galatians, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me…” Have you ever wondered what life would be like if Jesus decided to “take the wheel” in your life? Our feet might lead us to places we’d rather avoid. Our arms might embrace people we’d been afraid to touch. Our hearts might escape the prisons of selfishness and wrap themselves around wounded souls. St. Paul reminds us that great things happen when we let Jesus “take the wheel”. We can be merciful to others instead of judging them. We can understand the need for solidarity and compassion. The USCCB’s Justice for Immigrants campaign, (www.justiceforimmigrants.org) explains the impact of a broken immigration system and the elements required for comprehensive reform. Millions of our brothers and sisters endure family separation, physical and economic hardships, and persecution. We are called to protect their lives and dignity. For more information contact Rachel Ramjattan at [email protected] or (954)618-8151. DIVINE MERCY WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19 7:30 P.M., AE-200 NEW PARISHIONERS...ARE WELCOMED AT ST. JOHN’S. WE pray for the strength and the wisdom to confess honestly what we have done and what we have failed to do. Only as we come to a realization of our sinfulness...and our need for God’s mercy...that spiritual healing can happen. • • Do our little sins lead us to be judgmental of others? Do we know that no sin is beyond God’s forgiveness? As you reflect on God’s Word, may He strengthen you with His peace. May the good Lord bless you and your dear family now and always. Please pray for me. In Christ, Msgr. Pablo A.
