BE TRANSFORMED
RENEW YOUR MINDS.
LA MISIÓN DE JESÚS ES
NUESTRA MISIÓN
As Labor Day comes upon us we pack
away our summer vacation clothes and
begin to engage in regular school and
parish activities. God’s Word invites us
to “be transformed by the renewal of our
minds to achieve spiritual worship.”
Jeremiah encourages his students to be
wholehearted in sharing the love of
Jesus with their classmates: “Speak the
Lord’s name for his love is like a fire
burning in your heart.”
RELIGIOUS ASSISTANCE TO
POLAND AND POLONIA
Last weekend, August 23rd and
24th
the
second
collection
supported the annual collection for
Religious Assistance to the Church
of Poland and Polonia. Thank you
for your generous donations.
St. Peter was preoccupied with the
consequences of not getting along
with the powers that be: the elders,
chief priests, and the scribes. But like
the bumper sticker says: Question
Authority! Jesus on the other hand is
listening to God the Father and shares
his eternal loving voice and
cooperates in letting the Father
continue his creative work among us.
The Sacraments are rehearsals for
our souls to finally experience God’s
work in our lives in this life and the
next. The early church looked forward
to God’s absolution at the moment of
death because they appreciated the
eternal action of God in their eternal
destiny.
Cuando Pedro le dice a Jesús que no
hable de morir o de sufrir, está
haciendo lo que tantas veces hacen las
personas bien intencionadas. “Pare de
sufrir”.
Esto es afirmar una
imposibilidad. En la vida humana
siempre hay dolor inevitable. Decir

GAZE TOWARD THE
SANCTURY
Today the sanctuary of Ste.
Anne’s Church has a special
shrine as we host the visit of
The Virgin of Zapopan from
the Franciscan Basilica in
Guadalajara, Mexico. Pilgrims
are streaming to experience
God’s kindness, power and
glory.
We are not to conform our lives to the violence
which brings such suffering today in Syria, Gaza,
and Iraq. We pray with Mary to live the blessings of
her son, the Prince of Peace.

PERCEPTIONS OF
THE FAITHFUL
In November 2013, faithful

gauge their awareness of
mission priorities shared by
parishes and the Archdiocese, as

Faithful findings include profile data on the
registered households at each parish, U.S.
Census facts for the parish territory,
sacramental trends, and summary financial
information. Archdiocesan staff is supporting
pastors and parish lay leaders in using this
information to refine parish planning and
budgeting.
