November 1st is the Feast of All Souls. It is not a holy day of obligation since it falls on a Monday, however, I will be offering Mass at the chapel at 8:30 in the morning. Tuesday is Election Day and it coincides with the Feast of Poor Souls. All priests are privileged to offer three masses on this day to accommodate the people who would like to attend mass and pray for their deceased family and friends. The Mass schedule is below my remarks. Take time Tuesday to exercise your right to vote for the candidate and issues that will benefit our country and the rights of all citizens. There are many activities for adults and children between now and Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving Day our parish will once again provide meals for all parishioners and guests starting at 11:00 a.m. As usual I encourage people living alone or any family who wishes to share their blessing to enjoy a great meal. The Thanksgiving Day Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church at 9:00 a.m. for both parishes. A city wide Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Sunday, November 21. During the 40 days of the Fall 2010 campaign, from September 22nd to October 31st, over 400 babies’ lives have been saved from abortion around the nation (that we know of) and women and men are finding healing from experiences with past abortions. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this movement of prayer. There is no doubt that God has moved powerfully through your commitment to prayer and fasting. Please continue praying every day for an end to abortion. “If my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my presence and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and revive their land.” II Chronicles 7:14 Christmas Tea Meeting A meeting for vendors, hostesses, and servers will be held November 12, 6:00 p.m. at the church, and November 13th at 10:30 at Panera's. Tickets for the tea will be on sale in November at the back of the church. Priesthood Sunday Catholics across the country will be celebrating Priesthood Sunday on October 31. It is a day set aside to celebrate the importance of the gift of priesthood in the life of the Church. It is a time for us to reflect on the ministry that our priests share with us when we gather at the Table of the Lord-when we call in our times of need. Consider sharing a personal note or card of thanks. Together we pray that many of our young people will be inspired by the ministry and witness of our priests. May their hearts be open to hearing and responding to God’s call in their lives. More information on priesthood can be found at clevelandcatholicpriesthood.com Knights of Columbus #7970 Our annual turkey raffle will be Sunday, November 7 at St. Peter’s gym. Doors will be open at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. We will have door prizes, turkeys, hams, cheese wheels and the kitchen will be open so come hungry. Come and have some fun and help us support our grant fund for St. Peter’s School.
