PERUNIKA, ALOE VERA, MIRTA I SMILJE
Cresko-lošinjski arhipelag dom je 1018 biljnih vrsta od kojih se 230 ubraja u ljekovito bilje, a među njima su
svoje mjesto pronašle perunika, Aloe vera, mirta i smilje.
Perunika (lat. Iris germanica) ljekovitog je svojstva i to podanak koji se vadi u jesen ili u rano proljeće. Primjenjuje
se u miješanim čajevima za liječenje plućnih bolesti i žućnih kamenaca. Žvakanjem suhog korijena liječe se
bolesti zubnog mesa. Korijenom perunike uspješno se liječi migrena, posebice ako je popraćena mučninama.
Aloe vera (lat. Aloe barbadensis Miller) specifična je biljka posebnog izgleda te je prva na popisu primjene
djelotvornih ljekovitih biljnih vrsta. Sa svojih 75 potencijalno aktivnih tvari te zbog svog povoljnog utjecaja na
zdravlje i brojnih bioloških spojeva, postala je i nezaobilazna namirnica u nacionalnim indijskim kuhinjama. Iako
postoji oko 240 vrsta Aloe vera, malobrojne su jestive.

Aloe vera djeluje hidratantno, antioksidativno, protuupalno i antiseptički te usporava starenje kože i sprječava
opekline od sunca, a nakon prekomjernog izlaganju suncu umiruje kožu. Čini neprocijenjiv dodatak u širokom
spektru proizvoda za njegu kože, vlasišta te njegu zubi i desni.

Mirta (lat. Myrtus communis) na otoku je bila tisućljetni lijek i začin. Ulje mirte se rabi u pučkoj medicini za
bolesti crijeva i mjehura, protiv kašlja i bronhitisa te protiv hemeroida. Kako plodovi sadrže mnogo tanina,
koriste se za liječenje tegoba sa zubnim mesom, sluznicom usta, grla i jezika tako da ih se žvače i zatim ispljune.
Eterično ulje mirte koristi se protiv virusnih oboljenja, upala, plućnih i krvnih bolesti, pojačava imunitet, koristi
se u kupkama i za inhalaciju, u masažama te za bolju vlažnost i elastičnost kože.
Smilje (lat. Helichrysum italicum Roth. G. Don) se u tradicionalnoj medicini koristi protiv astme, jetrenih tegoba,
migrena, psorijaze, proširenih vena i cijelog niza drugih tegoba. Biljka cvate od lipnja do srpnja, a od biljke u
cvatu proizvodi se eterično ulje koje je toliko blago da ga podnosi i najosjetljivija koža. Eterično ulje smilja
pripada skupim uljima, a za njegovu proizvodnju potrebno je dosta umijeća. Biljka se mora destilirati vodenom
parom u roku od 24 sata nakon branja. Inhaliramo li eterično ulje smilja, ono će djelovati protuupalno, osobito
protiv virusa, analgetski, antioksidativno, smanjit će otečenost sluznice nosa, razmekšati sluz ili nakupljeni
sekret, smanjit će i nadražajni kašalj.
Na našim se otocima vjeruje da smilje u svojim cvjetovima akumulira sunčevu toplinu. Zbog toga i postoji
tradicija punjenja jastuka ovim prekrasnim cvijetom, u nadi da će sačuvano sunce grijati kad zapuše hladna bura.

The Cres-Lošinj Archipelago is home to 1018 plant species, of which 230 are considered medicinal, such as
iris, Aloe vera, myrtle and immortelle.
Iris (lat. Iris germanica) has healing properties, especially its rhizome collected in autumn or early spring, and is
used in blends of tea to treat pulmonary diseases and gallstones. Periodontal diseases are treated by chewing
the dried root. The iris root successfully treats migraines, especially those accompanied by nausea.
Aloe vera (lat. Aloe barbadensis miller) is a plant with a striking look and usually the first on the list of effective
medicinal plants. With its 75 active substances and due to its beneficial effects on health as well as numerous
biological compounds, it has become a common ingredient of national Indian cuisines. Of about 240 species of
Aloe vera, just a few are edible.

prevents sunburns, and soothes the skin after too much exposure to the sun. It’s an important supplement to a
wide range of products for skin, scalp, teeth and gum care.

Myrtle (lat. Myrtus communis) has for centuries been used on the island as a spice and a medicinal plant. Myrtle
oil is used in traditional medicine for gastrointestinal and bladder disorders, to provide relief from coughs and
bronchitis, and for treating hemorrhoids. Its berries contain a lot of tannin and are chewed to treat periodontal
diseases, oral mucositis, throat and tongue diseases. Myrtle essential oil is used to treat viral infections,
inflammations, and lung and blood disorders. It also strengthens the immune system and is used in baths and
for steam inhalation, massages, and better skin hydration and elasticity.
On our islands, the immortelle (lat. Helivhrysum italicum Roth. G. Don) is believed to absorb the heat of the sun
in its flowers. Pillows were traditionally stuffed with the immortelle’s flowers in the hope that the thus preserved
sun will deliver its heat even during the cold bora winds. In traditional medicine it’s used for liver disorders,
migraines, psoriasis, varicose veins and numerous other symptoms. The plant flowers from June to July and
flowering plants produce a mild essential oil, suitable even for extremely sensitive skin. Immortelle essential oil
is one of the more expensive oils due to its production method. The plant must go through steam distillation
within 24 hours of its collection. The immortelle essential oil is used for steam inhalation to fight inflammations,
especially viral infections, and has analgesic and anti-oxidant properties. The essential oil will reduce the nasal
mucosa infection, loosen mucus and soften the phlegm build-up as well as relieve coughs.

gehören, und dazu gehören auch Iris, Aloe vera, Myrte und Sand-Strohblume.
Iris (lat. Iris germanica) hat eine heilende Wirkung und zwar deren Rhizom (Wurzelstock), das im Herbst oder im
frühen Frühling geerntet wird. Es wird in Teemischungen gegen Lungenkrankheit und Gallensteine verwendet.
Das Kauen der trockenen Wurzel heilt Zahnfleischerkrankungen. Die Iriswurzel hilft erfolgreich bei Migräne,
besonders bei Migräne mit Übelkeit.
Aloe vera (lat. Aloe barbadensis miller) ist eine spezifische Pflanze mit einem ganz besonderen Erscheinungsbild
und steht auf Platz eins der Heilpflanzenliste. Mit ihren 75 potentiell aktiven Stoffen und wegen ihres guten
Einflusses auf die Gesundheit sowie wegen ihrer zahlreichen biologischen Zusammensetzungen ist sie eine

Hautalterungsprozesse, verhindert Sonnenbrand und nach den Sonnenverbrennungen beruhigt die Haut. Es
scheint eine sehr wertvolle Zutat in vielen Haut-, Haar-, Kopfhaut- und Zahnfleischprodukten zu sein.

Myrte (lat. Myrtus communis) ist auf der Insel seit Jahren ein Heilmittel und Gewürz. Das Myrte-Öl wird in
der Volksmedizin gegen Darm- und Harnwegserkrankungen, gegen Husten und Bronchitis und Hämorrhoiden
verwendet. Da die Früchte der Myrte viel Tannin enthalten, werden sie bei Problemen mit Zahnfleisch,
Mundschleimhaut, Rachen und Zunge verwendet. Die Früchte werden gekaut und dann ausgespuckt. Ätherisches
Myrte-Öl wird gegen Viruserkrankungen, Entzündungen, Lungen- und Blutkrankheiten verwendet. Es stärkt das
Immunsystem und wird Bädern und bei Inhalationen beigemischt. Auch bei Massagen wird es für eine bessere
Hydratation und Hautelastizität angewendet.
Die Strohblume (lat. Helichrysum italicum Roth. G. Don) speichert in ihren Blüten die Sonnenenergie, so glaubt
man auf unseren Inseln. Daher besteht auch eine alte Tradition, die Polster mit diesen Blumen zu befüllen, denn
die „gespeicherte“ Sonne sollte zur kalten Bora-Zeiten aufwärmen. Sie wird auch als Hausmittel gegen Asthma,
Leberprobleme, Migräne, Psoriasis, Venenerkrankungen und andere Krankheit verwendet. Die Pflanze blüht von
Juni bis Juli und aus der blühenden Pflanze wird ätherisches Öl gewonnen. Dieses Öl ist sehr mild und auch für
die empfindlichste Haut gut verträglich. Das ätherische Öl der Strohblume gehört zu den teuren Ölen, denn
die Herstellung verlangt viel Kunstfertigkeit. Die Destillation erfolgt bei dieser Pflanze über Wasserdampf, was
innerhalb von 24 Stunden nach dem Pflücken erfolgen muss. Das ätherische Öl wirkt entzündungshemmend,
analgetisch, anti-oxidativ, lindert bei Schwellungen der Nasenschleimhaut, lindert Reizhusten und wirkt gegen
Viruserkrankungen.

tra le piante medicinali. Tra queste ultime spiccano l’iris, l’Aloe vera, il mirto e il perpetuino.
Il rizoma dell’iris (lat. Iris germanica) è ricco di proprietà medicinali e si raccoglie in autunno o all’inizio della
primavera. È impiegato in tisane di erbe varie per la cura delle malattie polmonari e dei calcoli biliari. Masticare
le radici secche dell’iris aiuta a guarire le gengive. La radice dell’iris è impiegata anche come efficace rimedio
contro l’emicrania, in particolare se accompagnata da nausea.
L’Aloe vera (lat. Aloe barbadensis miller) è una pianta dall’aspetto un po’ insolito ed è la prima della lista tra le
piante officinali. Con i suoi 75 principi potenzialmente attivi, i suoi effetti benefici sulla salute e la gran quantità di
composti biologici contenuti, l’Aloe vera è anche un alimento insostituibile nelle tante cucine regionali dell’India.
Ma attenzione: sebbene in natura esistano ben 240 specie di Aloe vera, poche sono quelle commestibili.

L’Aloe vera ha proprietà idratanti, antiossidanti, antinfiammatorie e antisettiche, rallenta l’invecchiamento
della pelle e previene le bruciature dovute all’eccessiva esposizione al sole, oltre a svolgere un’efficace azione
calmante come doposole. È un preziosissimo ingrediente di tanti prodotti per la cura della pelle, del cuoio
capelluto, dei denti e delle gengive.

Sull’isola il mirto (lat. Myrtus communis) è conosciuto da millenni come medicamento e come spezia. L’olio del
mirto, nella medicina popolare, si adoperava per curare le malattie dell’intestino e della vescica, contro la tosse
e la bronchite e contro le emorroidi. Poiché le sue bacche sono ricche di tannino, una volta masticate (ma non
ingerite) sono usate per guarire le gengiviti e i disturbi alle mucose della cavità orale, della gola e della lingua.
L’olio eterico del mirto si usa contro virosi, infiammazioni, malattie polmonari e del sangue. In più rafforza il
sistema immunitario, si usa nei bagni e per le inalazioni, nei massaggi e per idratare ed elasticizzare la pelle.
Sulle nostre isole si crede che il perpetuino (o semprevivo, lat. Helivhrysum italicum Roth. G. Don) abbia la
proprietà di accumulare il calore del sole nei suoi fiori. Da qui la tradizione di riempire il cuscino con questi
meravigliosi fiori, nella speranza che il calore del sole racchiuso in essi riscaldi chi dorme nelle notti di bora.
Nella medicina tradizionale, il perpetuino viene usato contro l’asma, i disturbi epatici, l’emicrania, la psoriasi,
le vene varicose e contro tutta una serie di altri disturbi. La pianta fiorisce da giugno a luglio. Da essa si estrae
un olio eterico talmente delicato che è ben tollerato anche dalle pelli più sensibili. L’olio eterico di perpetuino
è tra quelli più preziosi, e per la sua produzione serve tanta abilità. La pianta va distillata con il vapore acqueo
entro ventiquattro ore dalla sua raccolta. Le inalazioni fatte con l’olio eterico di perpetuino sono efficaci contro
le infiammazioni, soprattutto se virali, ma hanno anche proprietà analgesiche e antiossidanti, oltre a ridurre il
gonfiore delle mucose nasali e ad agire come espettorante nel trattamento della tosse secca.
