Who Wants to be
a Millionaire?
If you watch the show, you know that a contestant is asked a series of questions, and each correct answer
builds the “pot of gold” and leads to a bigger, harder question. Since no one can know everything, there
are fun lifelines, such as Call a Friend and Ask the Audience.
Good news! We’ve arranged to host Who Wants to be a Millionaire right here at CrossRoads! TV host
Meredith Viera is busy, but we have her stand-in. CrossRoads Contestants have been chosen. The only
thing the game needs – is YOU!
Sunday, October 12
Potluck lunch and a Game
Right after Worship
The purpose of the game is to kick-off the 2015 Stewardship Program, where you are asked to pledge your
resources – time, talent and financial gifts – for the coming year. The theme is based on scripture in Luke:
Give, and it will be given to you...For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Whoever wants to be a millionaire in God’s eyes must first be a giver. For the more you give, the more you
receive.
Do you want to be a millionaire? It all starts this Sunday, October 12th. Please come and be a part of the
future!

Metro Adult Choir Festival announced by Bartlett UMC located at 5676 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN
On Sunday, October 19, at 5:00 p.m. BUMC will play host to the Metro Adult Choir Festival. The Festival will
feature several United Methodist Adult choirs from the Asbury and McKendree Districts. Each choir will sing a solo
selection. The choirs will combine with one another, brass, and organ to close the evening.
Congregational song will also be an important part of the evening. All congregations are invited to attend. A love offering will be taken that night; proceeds will support Hannah’s Hope, an adoption agency that serves both
expectant and adoptive parents all over West Tennessee. Their goal is to help both by providing adoption services,
counseling and support. The Hannah’s Hope office is located at Bartlett UMC. Please share this news with your choirs
and congregations. Let’s fill the church with song!
Any questions may be directed to Todd Wilson, Bartlett UMC Director of Music Ministries, 901-386-4563.
I can't believe it's October already! I would like to thank everyone who came out on Saturday and
walked in the Cakewalk, got their face painted, or bought something from the bake sale! Special shout
out to our awesome students who helped, and also to Christy Lott for organizing the Cake Walk, and
Rosa Schill for our Face Painting table.
On October 17, we are planning to take a group to Cedar Hill Farms in Hernando, MS. They have lots of fun fall/halloween
activities for us to do. We are looking forward to a spooky evening of corn maze and maybe a haunted hayride!
Mark your calendars for Halloween, October 31, from 5-7 here at the church for our Trunk or Treat! The boy scouts will be
here too. Time to get creative, make sure you dress up and dress up your trunk! Let's see whose trunk will have the best
costume.
Instead of going to Lakeshore this year, our students want to save the money (THEY asked if we could) we earned for a
trip that is over their Christmas break. The trip, BreakThru, is December 28-31 in Springville, AL. This is a retreat that
I have had the privilege to be apart of for the last 9 years. It's set at a beautiful camp with lots of outdoor activities,
amazing worship, speakers, games, and a time of community with other churches from the mid-south. I'm so excited to
be able to bring this group and for them to experience it. We will need to do a fundraiser to raise more money for this trip
(and our summer trip), so be watching for that!
I want to thank you all for the support you provide to this youth ministry, it does not go unnoticed.
Grace and Peace,
Jayna
