Escape reality. Go on holiday. Back to reality. Repeat. M utiara Rini Sdn. Bhd. (Mutiara Rini) recently took some time off from our busy schedule for a company retreat to Penang, where we stayed at The Royale Bintang Penang. Our group was split into two flights and we touched down at Penang International Airport, where we were warmly welcomed by two local guides, Mr. Freza and Ms. May Tan of Boustead Travel. Day 1 (8 May 2015) Our first destination in Penang was Peranakan Mansion. We had our lunch at Kapitan Restaurant along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, where we had the famous Chicken Tandoori Nasi Briyani which was simply delicious. After Friday prayers, we strolled through Little India and Penang Street in Georgetown, taking pictures of the quirky murals and interesting art scene that attracts scores of locals and tourists. "We are cruising!" Just out for a fun time The masterpiece of batik artwork Day 2 (9 May 2015) We disembarked from the cruise at 11.00 a.m. on the pier. We then had our lunch at Ummu Shirah Kari Kepala Ikan at Batu Ferringhi before we headed to Penang Tropical Fruit Farm at Teluk Bahang. We were invited by our tour guide to explore the orchard, following which we had a fresh fruit buffet to taste all the varieties of tropical fruits and juices from the farm. We then proceeded to the Batik Factory where the first team building challenge began. We were divided into six groups: Le’ Pirates, Blue Shark, Red Avengers, Le’o, Roarrr!! and Purplicious. Every group was required to produce their very own batik masterpiece. We discovered that our staff members were quite talented, with good painting and art skills. (11 May 2015) Our final morning in Penang began with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before we checked out and headed to the Penang 3D Trick Art Museum. It was sheer fun posing with various exhibits there. This fantastic museum showcases the culture and history of Penang in a fun and innovative manner. Around 4.30 p.m., we headed over to Penang Swettenham Pier to board the Superstar Libra Cruise. That evening we had our dinner on the pool deck while enjoying a beautiful sunset. Later, we explored the ship and took part in a variety of activities, such as the Stardust show, movie screening, live band, karaoke session and so much more. At midnight, we headed up to the top deck and enjoyed stargazing at the night sky accompanied by a calm sea breeze.
