Beginning Thursday Sept. 22 until Friday Sept. 30, the parishioners of St.
Henry are asked to please join us in praying a 9 day novena for
the success of our campaign to build a new parish home.
The theme of the novena is to ask for the intercession of those
members of St. Henry parish who have passed away to pray
with us before we commence this momentous task. As Catholics, we believe that we are ONE BODY in Christ, and therefore
our loved ones are still united with us – if not in the flesh, then in
spirit. We believe in the communion of saints – the union of ALL members of
the Church: The Church militant (us on earth), the Church suffering (those
purgatory), and the Church triumphant (those in heaven). Our deceased parishioners are still a part of our community; they are still a part of our lives; we
love them still and they love us. Let us therefore ask them for their prayers as
we journey forward as a parish. We are asking parishioners to please bring a
framed photograph of their deceased loved one to place in the sanctuary
during the 1 hour Novena of prayer, nightly beginning at 7:00pm.
St. Henry Open House
Reminder: Plan to attend our parish meeting which will reveal details, artist
renderings, and a video of the new parish campus are scheduled for September. At this meeting, Fr. Kosco and members of the Capital Campaign core
teams will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding the
Phase 1 hall & chapel that we plan to begin constructing in 2012. We will also
explain in detail the pledge fulfillment process. All are invited to the meeting
THIS THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8th in the St. Henry main church at 7:00pm.
Adult Catholic Catechesis (RCIA)
Adult Catholic Catechesis is for adults age 18+ who feel the Holy Spirit's call to:
a) become baptized in Christ and into His Catholic Church; or b) for individuals
already baptized in another Christian tradition who desire to become Catholic;
or c) for those persons baptized Catholic who are in need of First Communion
and/or Confirmation.
For those inquiring about your Faith Journey -- please sign-up after Mass to
attend the 1st Inquiry Session, which will be this Thursday, September 8, 2011

Saints to Know for Daily Dilemmas
Praying to them can help us deal with various types of annoying occurrences, from headaches
to technological issues, that we often face in everyday life. Here is the last of six patron saints
that we been sharing with you for the last six weeks.
Computer Trouble
We have become dependent on our computers — most of us could not do
our jobs without them. In the 1990’s when the Internet was new, Catholics
working in the new online industry decided they wanted a patron saint: They
chose St. Isidore of Seville (560-636). Obviously, St. Isidore never surfed the
Web, but he did compile a 20-volume encyclopedia of all existing knowledge. The Catholic IT
worker interpreted the encyclopedia as the world’s first database and adopted St. Isidore as
their patron. He is invoked against viruses, slow computers, crashing hard drives and all the
other annoyances of living in a high-tech world. The feast day of St. Isidore of Seville is April 4.

23° Domingo de Tiempo Ordinario
NOVENA para el éxito de nuestra Campaña Capital
Comenzando el jueves septiembre 22 hasta el viernes septiembre 30, se les esta
pidiendo a los feligreses de San Enrique que nos acompañen rezar un novenario de 9
días por el éxito de nuestra campaña para la construcción de la nueva parroquia.
El tema de la novena será para pedir la intercesión de los miembros que han fallecido
de nuestra parroquia que oren con nosotros antes de iniciar esta gran tarea. Como
Católicos, nosotros creemos que somos UN SOLO CUERPO
en Cristo, y por eso nuestros seres queridos aun están unidos
a nosotros - si no en carne, en espíritu. Creemos en la comunión de los santos – la unión de TODOS los miembros de la
Iglesia: La Iglesia militante (nosotros en la tierra), la Iglesia
sufriendo (aquellos en el purgatorio), y la Iglesia triunfante
(aquellos en el cielo). Nuestros feligreses que han fallecido
aun son parte de nuestra comunidad, y aun son parte de
nuestras vidas; aun los amamos y ellos nos aman. Pidámosle
sus oraciones en nuestro caminar como parroquia. Estamos pidiendo a nuestros feligreses que por favor lleven una fotografía en marco de un ser querido para poner en
el santuario durante la primer hora de la oración de la Novena, todas las noches
comenzando a las 7:00pm.

Conociendo Santos que Interceden por Nuestros Dilemas
Rezarles nos puede ayudar a sobre llevar
diferentes tipos de molestias, desde dolores
de cabeza hasta asuntos tecnológicos, que
muy a común enfrentamos a diario en la vida.
Aquí esta el 5to de 6 santos que hemos estado compartiendo en estas ultimas semanas.
Niños empecinados
Queremos a los niños, pero
hay unos días … Santa
Mónica (331-387) mimaba a
su hijo Agustín; de sus tres
hijos, el era su consentido. San Agustín nos
dice en sus ―Confesiones‖ que su mamá le
gustaba tenerlo junto a ella ―como son las
mamás, pero mucho mas que todas las
mamás.‖ Mónica había criado sus hijos en la
fe Católica, y cuando Agustín tenia 17 años
listo para salir de casa y estudiar en la universidad en Cartago, le dio instrucciones que
permaneciera casto. Agustín admite que el
tomó el consejo de su madre ―consejo feminista‖ con desafío. El estaba, como el menciona, ―listo para ser seducido.‖ Y, de hecho,
al poco tiempo de haber llegado a Cartago
encontró una amante y vivieron juntos.
La primera vez que Agustín regreso de la
universidad a casa, Mónica enojada y lastimada, no lo dejó entrar a la casa.
Sabemos que la historia tuvo buen final.
Aunque por la oración de Mónica (y la elocuencia del obispo San Ambrosio), Agustín
dejó a su amante, se bautizó y se convirtió en
sacerdote, en obispo y máximo teólogo de la
Iglesia después de San Paulo. Pero se tomó
17 años de preocupación y desagrado antes
de que Agustín se arrepintiera.
La fiesta de Santa Mónica es el 27 de agosto.
