An AGM will be held at the Holi/Funday Event on Sunday 1st September 2013 at 17:00.
This is a free event for all fee paying members of LPSOL.

The current committee will continue to support the samaj however we are looking forward to
welcoming new committee members who are keen to make their mark on society by building a
legacy that our LPSOL members can be proud of..
Some of the trustees will be resigning their post in accordance with our constitution's regulations,
therefore, please email us at [email protected] if you would like to be considered for
election as a trustee at the 1st September 2013 AGM.
You don't have to join the main committee to help out. Bring and build your skills, network and
socialise in whatever way suits you. That can be online or via meet-ups or through conference
calls. Become part of a team of "Friends of the London Samaj" and what you get back will
amaze you. Speak to any of the committee members or call Anand or Shaylesh to see what you
might be able to do for your Samaj.

Presidents Report/Update:
Welcome Samaj members. Firstly let me apologise for not getting the newsletter out earlier.
Nevertheless herewith you can find details of our up and coming events.
So we are at that time of year again when its all go go go. Sunday 1st September 2013 sees the
start of all the action with our annual Funday with a twist. We are incorporating the Holi event
into this. As well as our usual fun and games, we will have powder throwing games and not
forgetting the addition of unlimited dosa, uttapam and Idli. Tickets can be purchased at £7 per
person via the LPSOL website at www.londonsamaj.com or contact any committee member.
Please note, tickets cannot be purchased on the door and must be purchased in advance. To
ensure we get the catering numbers correct, tickets can only be purchased up to 48 hours before
the event.
The AGM will also be held on the same day. This part of the day is free to attend for all fee
paying LPSOL members. We as the management committee will be still be supporting for
another year however we look forward to welcoming new members to join our team. It is very
important for you as members of this Samaj to attend this AGM to have your vote where applicable and also join the management committee. we are always in need of some new members
and new energy for our Samaj members, so come and join us.
As with every year, we will be holding Navratri at Bishop Douglas school. Like last year we
will only be holding the function on weekends and Poonam (dates opposite). Full details will be
loaded to the London Samaj website soon. Please make every effort to support us by attending
throughout the Navratri period.
We are continuing tradition and are holding our yearly Diwali show on 17th November 2013.
This is being held two weeks after Diwali itself to allow families to do the ’Bhai Bhij’ and
Diwali rounds. This year as well as our usual acts from our members, we have invited a gujarati
Comedy group to come down and perform for us. They have won Nationally recognised awards
for their performances so you are in for a treat. If anyone is interested in either performing at the
show or sponsoring any part of it, please get in touch.
There has been a lot of interest from people regarding our dinner and dance event. We have
taken on board your interest and are planning to hold an event this year. Although nothing is set
in stone, we are in the process of organising the event which will most likely take place on
Saturday 30th November 2013. Please look out for further communications in relation to this.
Finally we have the kids Christmas party. Date and venue is yet to be confirmed as are activities
for the day. Again Please look out for further communications in relation to this and keep
checking the website for updates.
